PRIMER Using your finger, apply a lilac cream-based shadow as your primer. Before the cream shadow dries, dab a violet shadow over it with a brush, using small patting motions to pack on the shadow. This will help the two colors adhere together and create the perfect base.
LINER Line the top lid with black liner using small upward strokes. This will help the black and purple blend together and allow you to avoid creating a perfect, hard line.
DARK SHADOWS Use a pointy smudge brush to apply black shadow from the outer edge of your lash line and extend it up at a small angle. Blend well.

RELINE & BLEND Again, line the bottom lash line with black liner and use a pointy smudge brush to apply black shadow, blending it out to meet the top liner. Don’t be afraid to smudge it out a little farther than normal, because as you continue to smoke out the color, it will appear lighter. Choose a product from Step 3.
RESHADOW Dab the original lilac cream-based shadow on the center of the lid and the inner corner of the eye. Then take the violet shadow and reapply it into the crease. Blend it outward using a crease brush. Choose a product from Step 3.
HIGHLIGHT To add accent, apply a gold shadow under the brows using your fingers. Then use a dome-shaped brush to dab it into the inner corners. Choose a product from Step 3.
MASCARA Using outward-moving strokes, apply a generous amount of mascara. This will give your lashes a winged-out effect that emphasizes the smoky look.
