QuickTrim System Quarterly Newsletter QuickTrim Corner Boards Developed as a next generation hidden fastener system that has proven to be a revolutionary patented product, QTS has a nailing flange and starter strip that come standard, so there’s nothing through the face of the product. No nails, no screws, no kidding. QTS is available in 5/4” thickness in widths from 3 ½” to 15 ¼” and lengths of 12’ and 20’ so you can cut to any size you need. J-channels are also an option on every board. In addition, QTS has inside and outside corners, mounting blocks, historic and brick moulding, and siding receivers! QTS is the perfect solution for anyone who wants a fastener free look without the ongoing maintenance.

Using QuickTrim System for Window Surrounds The QuickTrim System (QTS) is being used by contractors everywhere. As with any new product, there are questions on the best way to install it. Here are a few tips we’ve compiled to make installation a breeze: Always glue/fasten corners before nailing the flange: When using QTS, you should always glue your corners BEFORE fastening the nailing flange. The attached starter strips will hold the board in place, making it easy for you to make a flush corner. This avoids any `tipping’ of the board. You can use any glue for PVC – we like using the Loctite ‘Professional’ glue as it dries in under 10 seconds. Installing around windows: There are many methods to installing QTS around windows. We like to cut the 4 sides to size first and then glue 3 sides on the ground. This allows you to get better seams. You would then slide the 3-sided surround around the window, saving the fourth side to be glued at the window. Always fasten the nailing flange last. When a J-channel is required for the siding, you’ll want to cut your corners at a 45-degree angle. This allows the J to be continuous around the window. If you’re not using a J-channel, you can butt the boards. It’s a good idea to seal the ends of any PVC with a small amount of Acetone.

Each QuickTrim System corner board comes wrapped individually in a box that can withstand 275 lbs. of pressure.

requires a J-Channel, you’ll have to cut a ¾” x ¾” notch on the sides of the sill. Once the head and legs are on the window, make sure the nailing flange is not fastened, glue the sill to the bottom of the legs. Once the sill is firmly attached, fasten the nailing flange around the window. If you have questions about the application, ask your local dealer, rep, or send us an email through our contact page.
