The Checkpoint ANZ Team is pleased to announce new features and enhancements based on your feedback. The following enhancements are scheduled for 4th July 2016. This document provides information about these features. Support for older versions of Internet Explorer ended on January 12, 2016. Checkpoint supports IE 11 and will need to ensure you have upgraded to Internet Explorer 11. Please contact your Account Manager if you have any issues.

Search All from Home screen

The Basic Search option on the Home screen has been enhanced to display search results in a new easy to read layout. The search will now also include results across Research and Tools. More details...

New login option

A new ‘Remember me on this computer’ option is available on the login screen providing quicker access to Checkpoint if this option is selected. Available from 6th July. More details...

Quicklinks access from right hand side panel

The RHS panel has been updated so Links is the default view to provide quicker and easier access to your Quicklinks from areas such as Research, Tools and History. More details...

News results sorting

When using the News Template, search results will now be sorted by Reverse chronological, as the default. More details...

Checkpoint World content

Selected Checkpoint World content is now available in Checkpoint. More details...

Tax Q&A Service

When you submit a question you can choose to receive an email copy of the question submitted.

RELEASE FEATURE DETAILS Home Search The functionality of the Search Portlet, which is located on the Home screen, has been enhanced to display your search results in a new easy to read layout when running a general search. This layout enables you to locate relevant results quickly and efficiently without having to scroll through pages of results or apply filters to find the information you are looking for. The search will also now not only include results from your Research titles but also any Tools such as Checklists, Forms and Templates, Calculators you subscribe to, therefore providing you with a more inclusive search. When you run a search from the Home screen, at a glance your results will be easier to identify and locate as they will be grouped in mini results boxes according to content type, such as Commentary, Legislation, Cases, ATO /Rulings, Journals, News and Tools. From this view, you can choose to filter your results, refine your search or click through to view a document or full results within a mini result box. New Search Results Layout ‘Search All’ portlet

All the Search templates, including the Basic search are still available under the Research menu. On the Home screen you can also navigate to these Search templates by clicking the search template link in the ‘Search within Selected Services’ portlet.

New login option A new ‘Remember me on this computer’ option is available on the Checkpoint login screen providing seamless access to Checkpoint. If this option is selected, the next time you login you will by-pass the login page and will be automatically logged in via your OnePass credentials.

This is option is specific to the device you are using and will need to be selected per device. The first time you select this option, you will receive an email confirming this action. You can update your OnePass information at anytime when you are logged into Checkpoint by selecting the person icon in the black tool bar.

Also when you log out, you will have the option of signing as a different user, if required. Note: This feature will be available from Wednesday 6th July. Changes to the ‘Forgot my username and Password’ process To simplify the ‘Forgot my username and Password’ process, dependency on answering security questions has been removed and you will receive an email with a link to allow you immediately change your password rather than receiving a temporary password. This is effective June 11, 2016.

Quicklinks access from right hand side panel For screens such as Research and Tools that include a right hand panel, Links is now the default view, providing quicker and easier access to your saved Quicklinks. Hints information can still be accessed by selecting the Hints icon and displays useful tips and help information.

Also, for larger screen resolutions (above 1280-1440) when you choose the Hide option to minimise the menu, the selection will be remembered during your session as you navigate to other screens.

News results Sort by Based on feedback, results returned when using the News Advanced search template will now be sorted by reverse Chronological order so the most current results are ranked first.

Checkpoint World Content Checkpoint World content is now available within the Australian jurisdiction of Checkpoint. For subscribers to these products, you can access them through the Basic Search template and a new International Tax search template. The International Tax template will contain Checkpoint World titles so you can easily browse or search specifically on these subscription products. Please note, if you are an existing Checkpoint World subscriber you will continue to access content in Checkpoint World. A separate subscription is required to access in Checkpoint, please contact your account manager or [email protected] for subscription queries. The available products are: 
