The #RaiseAMug Contest (the "Contest") is administered by the Alzheimer Society of Canada (herein referred to as “ASC" or "Contest Sponsor"). Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of the official Contest Rules and Regulations (“Contest Rules”), which shall be final in all respects, as follows:



1. ELIGIBILITY - The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who: a. if under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, have received the permission of their parent or legal guardian to enter the Contest and potentially become a winner of a prize (see Section 5d. below); b. are not employees, representatives, officers or directors of the Contest Sponsor or any of its federation partners, or anyone with whom they are domiciled. 2. CONTEST PERIOD a. The Contest Period begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (“EDT”) on September 15, 2016 and continues until 11:59 p.m. EDT on October 14, 2016, the "Contest Closing Date". Contest Period is subject to change. The Contest Closing Date may be extended, but will never be shortened. 3. HOW TO ENTER a. No purchase necessary. To enter the Contest, you must: (i) take an original photo of yourself with a coffee cup or mug and post it publicly on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, on or before the Contest Closing Date; and (ii) make sure your post includes the contest hashtag #RaiseAMug. Entrants must own the copyright for any photo submitted in connection with the Contest. Only one entry is allowed per person, per day on each social media channel during the Contest Period. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or any entry methods not authorized by these Contest Rules, shall be deemed as tampering and will void all of your entries. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the contest server machine(s). All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by the Contest Sponsor. b. Entries received shall be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the identified Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account was registered at the time of entry. In the event of a dispute, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the Entrant. Each selected entrant may be required to provide the Contest

Sponsor with proof that the selected entrant is the authorized account holder associated with the winning entry.

4. PRIZE a. Participants are eligible to win one of four gift cards, each in the amount of $25.00, from their choice of the following three major coffee chains: Starbucks Coffee, Tim Horton’s, or McDonald’s. The total value of each prize will be $25.00 CAD, including HST. b. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable, redeemable, refundable or exchangeable for cash and not replaceable if lost/stolen. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize with a prize of at least equal value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize. c. Any purchase for an amount greater than the available balance of your gift card must be paid with an alternative method of payment. Unauthorized use, reproduction or resale of gift cards is prohibited. Gift cards will not be replaced or replenished if lost, stolen, used incorrectly or without authorization. Sponsor or the gift card issuer reserves the right to limit, revoke or refuse the use of a gift card at any time at its sole discretion. Gift cards may not be exchanged for cash. Except where prohibited by law, the gift cards may be subject to availability, expire, and other terms and conditions may apply – see the applicable retailer/gift card issuer for details. If a potential winner is unable or unwilling to accept or otherwise redeem any prize on the terms it is awarded, the prize shall be forfeited and no cash or substitutes will be provided in whole or in part. d. The Alzheimer Society of Canada will be responsible for all applicable shipping and handling fees. If these rules differ from any promotional or other materials published in connection with the Contest, these rules shall control. 5. WINNER SELECTION a. A random draw from all eligible entries received will be made by a representative of the Contest Sponsor for the four cards at approximately 9:30am on October 28, 2016 at ASC. Each selected entrant will be contacted via the social media account that was used to submit the winning Entry. b. If a selected entrant cannot be reached within five (5) business days following the first attempt of contact, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return a Release of Liability as specified below, Contest Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to select another entrant or to cancel the prize. c. To be declared a winner, selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question administrated by email or by phone; and may need to return a signed Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and a full Liability and Publicity Release. Contest judges' rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the promotion and the awarding of prizes.



d. Where the selected entrant is under the age of majority in his/her province or territory of residence: as a pre-condition to the selected entrant being declared the winner and receiving the prize, the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant must provide consent in writing to the selected entrant being declared a winner and receiving a prize, and must also answer the skill-testing question and sign and return to the Contest Sponsor the Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and the Liability and Publicity Release as outlined in Section 5c. above. e. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. Contest Sponsor takes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any errors or omissions in advertising this Contest. 6. PRIVACY / USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION a. Communications will be entered into with selected entrants and at the discretion of the contest organizers. By entering the Contest and/or accepting a prize, entrants consent to the use of their Entry, name, e-mail address and city of residence (“Personal Information”) for the purpose of (i) administering the Contest, including but not limited to contacting and announcing the Winner; and (ii) publicity, advertising or informational purposes carried out by the Contest Sponsor in any medium or format without further notice or compensation. b. Contest Sponsor will use the entrant’s Personal Information only for identified purposes, and protect the entrant’s Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with the Contest Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (available at alzheimer.ca/privacy). 7. By entering this Contest, entrants release and hold harmless the Contest Sponsor, its advertising and promotional agencies, their affiliates and respective directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, dealers, representatives and successors (collectively the "Releasees"), and assigns the Releasees from any liability in connection with this Contest or, if declared a winner, the prize. 8. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or any other social media platforms on which the Contest may have been promoted or publicized. By entering this Contest, you agree to a complete release of these social media platforms from any or all liability in connection with this contest. 9. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.

10. This Contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment by Contest Sponsor. Entrants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the Contest. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein. 11. All Contest entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor who assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries due to any reason. Contest Sponsor assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. 12.
