Rakhine State, MYANMAR Monthly Camp Report: Oh Taw Gyi North

Reporting Period: 11-2015

The report presents an overview of the situation in the camp, including basic demographic data, infrastructures and access to services as of November2015. Information has been compiled based on various data sources, monitoring exercise and formal/informal interview with camp residents. Monthly Highlights

 

Election period: from the 6th to the 10th November, NGOs will reduce their presence and activities in the field. Emergency contacts from field based staff will be shared in a separate document. 16 Days of activism: from the 25th November to 10th December.

Regular diarrhea tracking; Completed assessment of disabled persons and provided toilet materials to the households of 31 disabled persons; Renovation of latrines; Provided ceramic water filters.

Clinic started running from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Mon to Thu every week. Nurses handed over to Volunteers who continue to operate the clinic from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm; Most common cases have been runny nose and diarrhea; On average, 100 patients have been coming to the clinic each day. MHCP activities (Mental Health and Care Practices) - Psychosocial Counseling, Support Group, Home Visits are on-going at OTP center. Support group for women, men, mother in law and tba/th.

Protection Team will continue working with PSNs in the camps and following up on them and identification of PSNs for IPAs and distribution. Identification of protection concerns.

IOM Capacity Building: joint Rakhine, Kachin and Northern Shan States CCCM training, targeting Camp Management Agencies from the 23rd to 26th November in Mandalay.

IOM training: Counter trafficking on the 13th 14th; Info-management for CCCM staff on the 18th and 19th.
