Press release Arbonia sells Forster Profile Systems to the Belgian Reynaers Group Arbon, 15 December 2017 – Arbonia AG is divesting itself of the Profile Systems Business Unit and selling Forster Profile Systems Ltd. with all subsidiaries to the Belgian family-owned company Reynaers Group. Under the aegis of Europe's leading specialist for aluminium system solutions for the construction industry, Forster Profile Systems will be able to develop in a more targeted way. Arbonia thus continues to focus on its three core areas of Building Technology, Windows and Doors. With the sale, Arbonia is securing the future of Forster Profile Systems with all its subsidiaries in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Great Britain, as well as the Italian company Bloxer Ronchi srl. The Reynaers Group has excellent knowledge and experience in the international market for specialised system solutions in aluminium. The company employs some 2000 people in more than 40 countries around the world and exports to over 70 countries. With this acquisition, the Reynaers Group extends their own portfolio of aluminium solutions with a range of steel and stainless steel profiles, maintaining Forsters’ strong brand name and market presence of Forster Profile Systems in Switzerland and Germany. In turn, Forster Profile Systems is able to profit from Reynaers’ expertise in the European market. Reynaers will integrate Forster Profile Systems as a separate business unit with its own management team, maintain the production for steel and stainless steel profiles in Switzerland as before and keep Forster Profile Systems as an independent brand. The employment contracts of the approximately 210 employees have been transferred. This transaction allows Arbonia, as the previous owner, to give the profile systems business a secure future. Arbonia is especially aware of this great responsibility because Forster Profile Systems was the origin of the enterprise in the founding year of 1874. As a result, the Doors Division of Arbonia will be focusing exclusively on the interior doors business. The contracting parties have agreed to remain silent regarding the purchase price. The sales proceeds will be used to reduce the net indebtedness of Arbonia AG. We expect the sale to be completed in January 2018.
