Tips for getting ready Dress for success. Wear proper business attire. Bring your resumé (one copy for entry to the Job Fair and at least 25 copies to distribute to employers). Make sure your resumé is grammatically correct and all words are spelled correctly. Arrive early. Silence your cell phone. Greet potential employers with a smile and firm handshake. Ask about the company and/or position to show your interest. Discuss your job qualifications, past or current job responsibilities, and strengths. Practice your “speech” before attending. Speak clearly and avoid using slang when speaking with employers. Some employers do not accept resumés. If instructed to complete an online application, do so and notify the recruiter that you did.
