Regional Monthly Dashboard April 2017 BASIC NEEDS The continued strategic priority for the Sector is to provide assistance to meet the ongoing basic needs of Syrian refugees, based on a multi-sectoral household profiling and identification methodology, specific to each country. The Sector continues to provide assistance to the poorest populations to ensure that they can meet their survival needs in a manner that allows choice and promotes dignity. By the end of April, the Basic Needs Sector reached over 294,500 households with unconditional, sector-specific or emergency cash assistance. In addition, 151,000 households have received core relief items in-kind this year. Many have been visited multiple times and monitoring is ongoing. In April, ESSN payments reached 507,321 vulnerable refugees across Turkey, an important milestone towards assisting one million people.
