Regional Monthly Dashboard April 2017 WASH The overarching goal of the WASH Sector is to enhance more sustainable and cost-effective WASH services for Syrian refugees living in camps/settlements and having more efficient, cost-effective and equity-driven service providers in areas with a significant proportion of Syrians living in host communities. So far in 2017, WASH Partners have reached over 138,200 people with hygiene promotion awareness sessions and messaging, and assisted over 275,600 people to access appropriate sanitation facilities. Over 463,500 individuals benefited from access to adequate quantity of safe water through improved longer-term water systems. In Jordan, works on the new borehole, ring-main and pipeline in Azraq camp were completed thus greatly improving reliability and sustainability of water supply for camp residents. In Zaatari camp, construction of the water network commenced in Districts 2, 4, 8 and 12, with eight kilometres of pipeline completed up to the reporting month.
