Regional Monthly Dashboard May 2017 BASIC NEEDS The basic needs sector aims to strengthen the capacities and resilience of local governance through development of simplified service delivery standards, provision of required equipment and skills development. Until May, 170,000 households have received core relief items in kind, which is just over 63 per cent of the targeted population. Approximately 294,000 households have received unconditional, sector specific or emergency cash assistance and over 203,000 households received seasonal support through cash or in kind assistance. In Jordan, 3RP partners continue to provide, through the CCG (Child Cash Grants) programme, a grant of approximately USD 28 per child per month to vulnerable families to assist them in covering the costs of their children's basic needs and prevent reliance on negative coping strategies such as child labour and early marriage. In Turkey the Comprehensive Vulnerability Mapping exercise (CVME) began in May to map vulnerabilities across the refugee population in Turkey. Over 600,000 vulnerable refugees received multipurpose cash assistance through the Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN). The ESSN project aims to reach more than 1,000,000 people in 2017
