I Designing Spaces to Promote Nature Play

Presented by Eve Smallwood, Cincinnati Nature Center and Rachel Konerman, Arlitt Child and Family Research and Education Center Natural Playscapes are a safe and economical way for adults to provide unstructured nature play for children. Bring pictures or drawings of your outdoor area to share and leave with ideas to “playscape” your space.

Learning Through Play for Families Sunday, March 13

Parents and their children can learn though play together! Experience the fun with your kids at Learning Through Play for Families. Explore the museums and look for special programs inside Duke Energy Children’s Museum, Cincinnati History Museum and the Museum of Natural History & Science. Visit with Beech Acres Parenting Center, who will lead drop-in activities to help children develop mindfulness; and discover ways to build five minutes of play each day into your family’s busy schedule. Miss Meghan will demonstrate how to grow a lot of food in a small space with aeroponics. Register for one of our engaging family sessions where your little one can explore nature in an urban setting, sing and dance, practice rhyming words and build important math skills. Mini Makers are a chance to do new, fun and creative things. These interactive family workshops are designed for 5 -10 year olds and provide an enriching experience for the whole family.

Summer Day Camps

Registration is now open for Summer Day Camps! Camps begin in June for children in kindergarten through 8th grade and include a variety of opportunities to engage with science, history, technology, and other topics.

Birthday Parties

Choose from nine educational party themes for children ages 1 to 12. We’ll provide the decorations, utensils, cake, juice

and a gift for the birthday child while you just sit back and relax!

Overnights

Calling children ages 7-15! Grab your sleeping bag and pillow for a night at the museum to find out what really happens after dark!
