Introduction. The aim of this research was to study the relationships between the acceptance or rejection by peers and the children’s self-concept. Sociograms were developed by Jacob L. Moreno to analyze choices or preferences within a group. They can diagram the structure and patterns of group interactions and they allow to classify according to the level of rejection or acceptance by peers. At school children stage the bounds with their peers allow them to find their psychological and social limits, likewise, their feelings of self-esteem begin to support more of these experiences outside the family. Nickel (1980) in his research shows the importance that peer acceptance has in personality and self-concept of children and adolescents. He has found that people with low self-concept are vulnerable to criticism, rejection and ridiculed by others. Participants. The sample consisted of 320 children, from both sexes. The children’s ages ranged from 9 to 11. For this study we extracted two samples from the total sample taking into account the average of acceptance and rejection by peers obtained from the sociograms. The acceptance subsample comprised 60 children (28 male, 32 female) that got a high level of acceptance and low rejection; on the other hand, the rejection subsample comprised 61 children (36 male, 28 female) with low acceptance and high rejection. Instruments. 1- Sociogram. Children responded to questions such as "List the classmates with whom you would most like to sit", "Write the name of the person with whom you would enjoy working on a project." 2- Piers Harris Children's Self Concept Scale (CSCS), Spanish adaptation by Casullo. This test was designed to measure self-concept (e.g. self esteem, self

regard) in children. It is composed of 80 items covering six subscales: Behavioral Adjustment, Physical Appearance and Attributes, Intellectual and School Status, Freedom from Anxiety, Happiness and Satisfaction, and Popularity. Besides, it has an Overall SelfConcept Score. Results. Table 1 shows means and standard deviations for the self-concept scales of both groups, and scale F univariates.
