You can embed “buy now” buttons in your videos, add opt-in forms, overlays, and even make your video redirect back to your website. I don’t know how I ever lived without EVP, but it’s the best investment I’ve made – And it’s really affordable!

Amazon S3 hosting – Amazon S3 can’t be beat for video hosting, due to its reliability, security and low cost. It’s where I host all my videos, audios, PDFs and important stuff!

Free Video Creation Tools

OneTrueMedia.com - One of my favorite video creation sites is OneTrueMedia, because of its simplicity and ease of use. Create amazing photo/video montages with your own (or use their free stock) photos. They have dozens of themes to choose from, as well as a selection of great music to use in your video. They also make it really easy to share your videos with Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. OTM is free, unless you prefer to go wild with more features and goodies for just $39.99 a year.

Animoto.com - Animoto is about the easiest way possible to get your video online. You upload a few photos, add a text or two, and hit “create.” It couldn’t be any simpler! You can create 30-second videos for free. For more professional videos and lots more video creation options, get an “All Access” pass for$30 a year. If you’re really serious and want the full monty, try a “Pro” account for $249.

GoAnimate.com – This is another fun and free site that allows you to created animated videos. Just pick your characters, type the text you want them to say, and you have an instant cartoon! 2 © Lou Bortone 2012 | Video Resource Guide | For more info and freebies, visit www.LouBortone.com

Xtranormal.com – Here’s another wacky website that allows you to create animated videos using their cast of characters. Type the text and manipulate the characters to say and do whatever you want. As the website says, “If you can type, you can make movies!”

Presentation Software PowerPoint – The old stand-by (and still tops in my opinion) for presentations. Camtasia Studio – There’s more of a learning curve, by Camtasia is the ultimate in screen recording software. I like it so much, I have both the Mac AND the PC versions. Camtasia’s “little brother,” Jing, is also quite good. (http://www.JingProject.com) Keynote (Mac) – Keynote is basically the Mac version of PowerPoint. The great thing about Keynote is you can record your presentations and save them as movies (for video), as PDFs, or even as PowerPoint versions. Screenflow (Mac) – Screenflow is like Camtasia for the Mac. It’s a great screen recording/screen capture software with some nice bells and whistles. (http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/)

Prezi.com – Take your presentations to a new level with this free software that allows you to move, zoom, scale, rotate and create “paths” for your presentations. Give it a try!

Slideshare.net – Slideshare combines presentations and social media. Or, as Slideshare puts it: SlideShare is the world's largest community for sharing presentations. With 60 million monthly visitors and 130 million pageviews, it is amongst the most visited 200 websites in the world. Besides presentations, SlideShare also supports documents, PDFs, videos and webinars.

Join.me (screen sharing) – Join.me is fairly new to the scene, but it’s one of my faves. Share your computer screen instantly with up to 250 people for free. 3 © Lou Bortone 2012 | Video Resource Guide | For more info and freebies, visit www.LouBortone.com

Video Hosting

Amazon S3 hosting – Amazon S3 can’t be beat for video hosting, due to its reliability, security and low cost. It’s where I host all my videos, audios, PDFs and important stuff!

Screencast.com - Another video hosting option is atScreencast.com, via Techsmith, the makers of Camtasia and Jing software. Their biggest limitation is the amount of storage you get for a reasonable price.

Video Equipment Here is the exact backdrop and lighting set-up I use in my studio. Both are available and very reasonably priced at Amazon.com. Links are provided below… Backdrops http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002S9KDKS/ref=oh_o00_s01_i00_details

Webcasting & Live Streaming

Ustream.tv – Popular, easy-to-use and free webcasting service. You can stream live, interactive with guests via chat, and share your webcasts to Twitter and Facebook.

Livestream.com is the other big player in the “web-tv” space. Similar to Ustream.tv, but with a different feature set of bells and whistles!

Skype – Perhaps the best known and most popular broadcast service. While best known for VOIP calling, Skype also offers video calling and screen sharing.

Ecamm Call Recorder - If you’re on a Mac and you want to record your video webcasts or video calls, you can get Call Recorder from Ecamm.

TinyChat.com – Another personal favorite for video chat. May look like a teenage wasteland at first, but actually TinyChat offers a lot of functionality and customization.

Tokbox.com

Video Editing YouTube.com - Yes, YouTube as an onboard editor! And it’s plenty good enough to do basic edits on your video. It’s a good (and free) place to start. Windows Movie Maker – If you’re on a PC, Windows Movie Maker is the best place to begin. iMovie (Mac) – If you’re on a Mac, luck you! Chances are you already have iMovie, an easy, but powerful way to edit your masterpiece. If iMovie didn’t ship with your Mac, you can get it as part of iLife software. Final Cut Pro (Mac) – When you’re ready to edit with the big boys, you can graduate to FCP. Be prepared for a much steeper learning curve, though!

Stock Footage/Photos Photodune.net – High quality and very affordable royalty free stock photography site. (my fave) iStockPhoto.com – One of the biggest players in stock photos, video footage and even music.

Stock Music Audiojungle.net – Over 50,000 audio files in every genre imaginable, starting at just $1.00! Revostock.com – Another great site for stock audio and stock footage. Happy exploring!
