RETAIL STORE MANAGER of an Australian outdoor icon. Location: Miranda NSW FUN, ENERGETIC ENVIRONMENT! QUALITY PRODUCT & INSTANTLY RECOGNISED BRANDS The name Paddy Pallin certainly means many things to many people. For some it brings to mind the genial personality of one of Australia’s pioneer bushwalkers. Others will recognise the name from

the label of a sleeping bag or rucksack that has given a generation of faithful service in the great outdoors. Or perhaps it brings to mind the colourful history of Australia’s greatest cross-country ski race. For most people however, the name is associated with a group of specialist retail stores catering for travellers and outdoor enthusiasts.

When Paddy Pallin started this business in 1930, he didn’t have much – just a love of the outdoors and a thirst for his next great adventure. Over his long life he enjoyed hundreds of these journeys with his family and his colleagues, and today that 85 year tradition of shared experience is still the heartbeat of our business. Nobody knows more about trekking and adventure travel than the team at Paddy Pallin. We don’t just talk the talk … we walk the walk. But that’s not all. We bash the boots, we punish the packs and we push the limits of every product we sell. Because it’s only through our experience that we can help make the most of our customer’s experience. Required skills: • • •

Must enjoy working with and leading people. Love of and active participant in many of the outdoor pursuits we cater for. Strong retail office administration and organizational skills.

You must have previous: • • • • •

Management Experience with longevity and structure Demonstrated skills in performance management, appraisals and conflict management Previous experience working with KPIs & an understanding of how to utilize them to drive sales in store Experience in visual merchandising to planograms and guidelines Experience in travelling, the outdoors and adventure

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): • • • •

Maintain excellence in customer service for yourself and your team Opening/closing the store Handling cash, banking and the End of Day procedure Participate in visual merchandise presentation and execute strategy

Stock management procedures via stock counts and POS systems Effectively set up sales and promotions in a timely manner Must be able to work a variable schedule that meets the needs of the business, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
