A Word from Our Administrator Dear Richmond Families, I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving break. Excitement is in the air as we prepare for our holiday concerts. Our students are excited to perform for their families as our music department solidifies final concert details. The following performances will be held the week of December 14th. Our first show begins on December 15th with our K-2nd grade students. The next night, our 3-5th graders will perform and our 6th-8th graders will finish on the 16th. All concerts begin at 6:30 pm. Doors will open at 6:00 pm by the bell tower. I want to thank our Student Council and Mrs. Eberle for organizing our Community Lunch and Learn Program that was held on November 20th. We had 22 community participants who enjoyed student-led presentations on Love and Logic, STEM, PBIS, and the Buddy Program. All participants were provided lunch with the student council and administration and finished the program with guided tours of the school. Love and Logic Parent classes will be starting January 11th at 4:30 pm for five weeks. Ms. Jody Calarco and I will be teaching parents how to make parenting more enjoyable, while raising responsible kids. Please see the attached brochure to this newsletter for more details. Hartland Chamber of Commerce Announces Arrival of Canadian Pacific Holiday Train The Hartland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is due to arrive in downtown Hartland – the only stop in Waukesha County – on Friday, December 4, 2015 at approximately 9:00 pm immediately after Hartland Lights, at the intersection of Cottonwood and Pawling Avenues. The train is bejeweled with 100,000 thousand twinkling lights, and travels across the US and Canada to raise awareness and donations for local food pantries. Santa Claus will welcome the crowd and during the one hour stop, a traveling boxcar stage show will feature live music by Kira Isabella and Doc Walker. The Chamber will be selling magical “elf glow wands” with proceeds to benefit the food pantry. When lit, they will be used to wave in and welcome the train! Forrest, The Christmas Horse, from Knollwood Farms will also stop by for a visit. All visitors are encouraged to bring donations of cash or non-perishable food items down to the train where all donations stay in the Lake Country area. This is an honor for our Village and we hope that the surrounding Lake Country communities will turn out in force to witness this spectacular display and give generously in support of those in need.
