Fundraising Weekly raffle Congratulations to Renee Saleh for winning the Broncos tickets last week. You can collect your tickets from the Fundraising Desk on Saturday. This week’s raffle prize is a $30 Banjo’s Bakery Cafe voucher. A great effort is being put in by our volunteers every week selling these tickets and I do notice those who are walking around selling them. Thank you! Chocolate Drive All money for outstanding boxes was due last Saturday and we still have about one third of them owing. Please remember to bring your money for these this weekend or alternatively pay into the account or see Brian at some stage to pay by EFTPOS. Please note that no chocolates are to be returned now as they have been out for several weeks. Only full payment will be accepted for your boxes.

Car Rally We held our Inaugural Car Rally last Sunday and while we only had a few entrants, most of them were from the general public and all entrants thoroughly enjoyed it and have stated they can’t wait for the next one. Check out the Facebook page for some photos and stay tuned for the event again next year. We will have plenty of notice and it won’t clash with any carnival dates. A huge ‘Thank You’ is deserved to Sarah Curran-Smith, Jade Wright and Nicki Riley for helping to pull it all together and make it look like a great event. We are ready for next year! Thank you to Paul Sciberras, Robyn and Fraser Larcombe and Brian Johnston for helping out on the day or in the lead up. Also to Simone Clarke for taking all the photos for everything on the day. You can see Simone’s photos on Facebook for both the carnival and the Car Rally/stalls. Many thanks to SportFirst Capalaba, IGA Cleveland, Bendigo Bank, JJ Richards, Nova FM, Triumph, Yatala Pies, Wray Organic and Lorna Jane for the donation of all the prizes. Several entrants won a major prize and every entrant took home participation prizes. The winners with 117 points out of a possible 118 were our own Carter family lead by a very experienced Maureen. U13 Carnival BBQ and Cake Stall While it was only a small carnival the BBQ and Cake Stall were well supported by most, if not all who attended, even the Masters Womens team after their training session. We raised $1030 from these stalls plus Java makes a donation from every drink sold. Thank you so much to all the parents who baked all those beautiful, yummy goodies. They were so popular. If you brought in a container or bowl, etc for this and haven’t received it back please come and see Angela at the fundraising Desk on Saturday. A huge ‘Thank You’ to Chloe Slater and Mel Warwick for organising and running the BBQ for the day. Also to Laurie Christensen, Allan Mills and Bill Beardmore for cooking the BBQ for the whole day. Thanks to Debbie Addison, Natalie, Pedersen, Julie Christensen and Antonella Zambelli for manning the cake stall. Thank you to all the parents who offered to man the stalls and to those who offered and weren’t needed in the end. We never know how many people it will take to man stalls for these events and it’s always reassuring to know there are people who will offer to help or to keep an eye on the stalls in case they can help. There were many other people who helped in some small way and we truly appreciate all of it as it contributes to a well organised event to have the small jobs done. Thank you RHA members for a great day out on Sunday! We pulled together for a very worthy cause. All feedback is welcome and if you prefer to do it anonymously please leave a note in the mailbox on Saturdays. Speaking of the mailbox, please DO NOT leave money inside the small plastic container next to the mailbox. The secured mailbox on the desk is for the money, the plastic container is for the bags and note paper. Please also don’t put any items, especially cash, in my personal belongings behind the desk. White Wolves, the dynamic under 16 team, really impressed their coach and spectators this week. They prepared for the game with trepidation, having previously lost against the Blue team. However, when they took the field, they worked like a well oiled machine, passing between each other and sharing the load to win the game. This game was further complicated by challenges the coach set which deterred individual dominance to encourage team work and reliance on each other. Congratulations to the whole White Wolves team who played so cohesively that the coach could not pick any individual awards. Also congratulations to Crispin, Kate, Lucy and Rhys on your goals, and to the rest of the team for great defence and attack. Teamwork like this week in what makes a game a great game both for players and spectators. Well done White Wolves.

Quick update for U16 Maroon Madness: U16 Maroons played the Gold team on Saturday, and won 2-0. Both goals were scored by Ved Reshamwala. Player of the week: Ved Reshamwala
