Loving the training shirts and game shirts are very nice. Pretty even start to the game. We got a cracker of a goal from Hunter. Great team work kids. Strong defending and attacking by both teams. Some pretty close attempts. Half time score 0-1. Second half... not long into the half and another goal to Hunter. Some more great attacking and defending... then an awesome goal by Rhys. Coaches Meeting #3 Thankyou to our wonderful coaches giving up their time to come along to our 3rd Coaches Meeting. Tonight we were going over Goalie & Shooting Drills & sharing some fantastic training ideas. Some great input from Taylah and plenty of sharing within our peer divisions. If you are keen to get some goalie practice, Sarah (senior red goalie) is running a goal keeping clinic on Saturday for J2 and J3 keepers 7.30am in the morning.

2009 was another year of firsts. First ever Rep teams, development of the first “5 Year Strategic Plan”, involvment in the Active after School Program. The numbers swelled to 173 players and RHA ran 1 x U7 team, 4 x U9 teams, 4 x U13 teams, 2 x U17 teams and 4 senior teams all teams were mixed males and females. There were now 14 coaches and 24 umpires, thanks to funding from Qld Sport and Rec to run development coaching and umpiring sessions. Coordinators were introduced and our first canteen coordinator was Denise Woosnam, Volunteer coordinator was Jodie Middleton and we had a fundraising coordinator as well, Adri-Ann Watts. RHA still operated from the Vienna Woods State School but Redland City Council negotiated for us to move to Henry Ziegenfusz Park n 2010. An exciting venue change. Our very first Rep teams took months of planning from choosing the RHA colours which were submitted and accepted by Hockey Qld, the uniform design also had to be approved by HQ, followed by the making of the uniforms, organising accommodation, transport, officials and the many other things we learnt along the way about sending teams afar. Under 13 boys headed to Bundaberg, girls went to Warwick, U15 girls bused to Mackay (a ‘fun’ all nighter) our first win was euphoric, women’s masters to Sunshine Coast. We also sent a boys and girls to the Coulter Shield and Southern Cross carnivals plus 3 U9 teams to the Caboolture Carnival. This was also the first time we introduced Rep Travel shirts, now 10 seasons in some have a pretty good wardrobe compliments of RHA reps.
