Chocolate Drive Time to treat your sweet tooth or brush up on your sales skills!

The Cadbury chocolate drive is upon us again. On the 10th of June, each family will be allocated one box of chocolates to sell. Boxes will contain Picnics, Cherry Ripes, Crunchies, Turkish Delights and Twirl bars.

We understand that not everyone may wish to sell chocolates so we are offering the opportunity to donate $25 instead of selling a box. To assist us with ordering and to minimise the number of boxes brought back, please advise Shelley at [email protected] or on 0419 032 636 if you do not wish to receive a box. If no advice is received and confirmed back to you by Sunday, 4 June a box will be ordered for your family and it will be your responsibility to sell it and return the money by the due date. Likewise, if you would love to take more than one box on delivery day please also advise so they can be prepared for you. Don’t forget every box sold earns you a 1 hour credit on your volunteer levy.

Save June 24th for our second fun Car Rally.

2011 was another busy year when we moved to Henry Ziegenfusz Park, mid-season. We established a rental agreement with Clevelands Thornlands Cricket Club and employed our first canteen coordinator Anne Marie Sorenson. Thanks to Melanie from Active8 Sports Solutions we were successful in receiving a Gaming Community Benefits Fund of $25,000 which built the shed. RHA also established an Umpire Development and Accreditation program and Gaye Henderson from Hockey Qld visited on many occasions to mentor the umpires, this further developed into our very own RHA internal accreditation program. Tech Benches were also introduced to ensure a professional approach to game management. The volunteer levy was introduced to encourage volunteering. The hoodies were also designed and ordered and although not in time for our July Rep season they proved a big hit the following year. RHA now had over 270 players and 25 teams were created with 4 teams in each of U9s, U11s, U13s and U17s, Men’s and Women’s plus there was the U7’s as usual. RHA was finally in line with Hockey Qld preferred team age groups. With so many teams to manage a Junior and Senior committee were established to ensure participation, fairness, equity and enjoyment remained the core value of Redlands. Again we sent 7 Rep teams away, 2 x U11 Boys and Girls, 2 x U13 Boys and Girls, 1 x U15 Girls (unfortunately there were not enough boys to participate), a men’s masters and a women’s masters. Again the Women’s team did very well winning Division 4 and pushing them to Div 3 in 2012, Melanie also one player of the Division and Sharon Collins again was selected in the Qld O55’s team that travelled to Perth.

#Sticks up for Brett Forte who was shot and killed in the line of duty last week. It was fabulous to see our club support this tribute.
