UMPIRES Click here to see if you are on umpire duty this week. As umpires our Officiating committee is doing a fabulous teaching our young umpires, even HQ agree, please see what they think about us. “The HQ Technical Operating Committee would like acknowledge and commend the work being done at Redlands Hockey Association in relation to encouraging, funding and promoting the technical aspect of our fantastic game. Without the RHA volunteers that attended the HQ U18 Men’s tournament to work the bench we would have been very short of numbers. It is pleasing to see that both Portia Anger and Will Lomas attended the HA Level 1 course yesterday as attracting people in their age group to this part of our game is generally quite hard and is testament to work being done by your Association. I would like to see other Associations follow your lead! Regards, Jo Greensill, Chair, HQ TOC”

Congratulations to Carmel Hall from U9 Gold team for winning the Broncos tickets last weekend. U9 Blue, your team’s volunteer won the coffee voucher this week. They can both be collected from the Fundraising Desk this weekend. Thank you everyone for supporting our weekly raffles so well this season. Please ensure you take your turn selling tickets for your team. We have most of the junior teams on board now with this every week and even a senior team joining in. Thank you.

The clash between Blue Bombers and the Red team this week was a close encounter, with the Red team being a goal up for most of the match. The final score 3 goals all proves the close nature of the competition. The Blue Bombers were on the back foot in the first half with the Red team taking the initiative and gaining the upper hand early. In the second half the Blue Bombers settled and then lifted to level the match. Gus lifted his game in the second half along with other players and this good example and excellent play made a big difference. A special mention to Chloe who played up for the Bombers from Under 12 and scored the goal that equalised the game! The girls in the Blue Bombers are forming powerful partnerships and Emma, Chloe W, Taya made a big difference to the game with Emma scoring two goals. Our new players are settling in enjoying each new game and the team spirit is great to observe. Looking forward to the next round of competition where we can improve on a number of aspects of our game. Last week the Blue Bombers came up against a very determined Gold team and the 3 goals to 1 margin to the Bombers indicates a top quality game. Congratulations to the Gold Goal Keeper for a fantastic effort and their players made many penetrating runs through the Blue defence which is something the Blues will need to work on for the next game. The Blue Bombers were enhanced in their play by Micky and her excellent positioning and strong presence on the ball. Thanks to Kianna one of our new players for stepping into a new position and taking on the challenge successfully. Once again we congratulate the whole team on their training and preparation and their positive play on game day.

Maroon played the Green team, and won 3-1. Charlotte Healy scored 1 goal, and Maddie Ries scored 2 goals. Player of the week: Lucy West Encouragement award: Kayla Johnston

Thank you team managers for these reports, if others would like to submit a team report, please send through to me at
