Royal Wedding Strawberries This is a simple and effective way to engage the children in the royal wedding celebrations. The red, white and blue strawberries look very effective, but take very little effort to create.

Ingredients 1 punnet strawberries 100g white chocolate 50g sugar Blue gel food colouring Cake pop sticks or cocktail sticks (optional)

Method 1. Cut the tops off the strawberries. 2. Melt the chocolate, either using a Bain Marie, or in the microwave. If microwaving, heat for short bursts of time, eg 30 seconds, then check and stir the chocolate, to prevent it from burning. Repeat the process until the chocolate is completely melted. 3. Add a small amount of blue food colouring to a small bowl of sugar and stir the mixture together, until the sugar is completely and evenly coloured. 4. To avoid chocolatey fingers, you can insert a stick into the strawberry to make it easier to dip in the chocolate, but isn’t essential. 5. Partially coat the strawberry in white chocolate, covering about two thirds of the strawberry. 6. Dip the chocolate covered end of the strawberry into the blue sugar, covering about half of the chocolate. You should now have a red, white and blue fruit! 7. Experiment with how you coat the strawberry, try adding stripes or other patterns. 8. If you have the patience/impulse control, allow the chocolate to set before eating!
