VOLTGARD TEST LAB SAF-T-GARD INTERNATIONAL OPERATES THE VOLTGARD TEST LAB. Voltgard started as a small test lab in 1983, supplying testing of gloves and blankets for a regional telecom provider. Over the last 30 years, it has grown to become the largest independent testing facility in the US, with customers including electric utilities and contractors, telephone and telecommunications companies, cable television operators, and industrial facilities. OSHA workplace rules make the use of rubber insulating equipment mandatory, even when the smallest potential of contact with low or high voltage exists. These rubber goods must be periodically tested to ensure the products maintain their integrity when exposed to a full range of voltages. The Voltgard Test Lab performs full service testing and re-certification of rubber gloves, sleeves, blankets, line hose, hot sticks, hoods, grounding sets, jumper cables, and dielectric footwear. The Voltgard facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for the complete testing of these products, including washing, visual inspecting, and electrical testing – all to applicable ASTM standards. The Voltgard Test Lab at Saf-T-Gard International is a NAIL-accredited test lab. NAIL4PET helps develop uniformity in testing and works in close association with the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). NAIL-accredited laboratories are charged to promote service, candor, justice, and the public welfare in safety. The Saf-T-Gard and Voltgard team has more than 100 combined years of safety expertise, focusing on industrial and electrical safety. Our team includes ASTM Voting Members, OSHA 30-hour trained safety professionals, Qualified Safety Sales Professionals (QSSP), and NFPA 70E trained safety professionals.
