Finish your tour at Alexander Park for the Changing of the Guards, followed by free time at Red Square to enter Lenin’s Mausoleum, St. Basil’s Cathedral or Russia’s premier shopping arcade, GUM. On arrival, you will see the city’s Golden Gate and UNESCOlisted Assumption and Demetrius Cathedrals, followed by check-in at Park Hotel Voznesenskaya Sloboda (4 star) or similar and dinner at a local restaurant. PETERSBURG Immerse yourself in St. Petersburg’s imperial past with a drive to the town of Pushkin, Tsarskoe Selo (Czar’s Village), where you will visit the magnificent Catherine Palace and its famous Amber Room. After lunch at Pushkin, continue your royal tour to Peter the Great’s grand summer estate, Petrodvorets (Peterhof). DAY 9 SAT ST. PETERSBURG Today you visit the renowned Hermitage Museum, located in the imperial Winter Palace, for an introduction to its immense collection of over 2.7 million items of art. DAY 7 SAT COPENHAGEN – ROSKILDE – OSLO This morning, immerse yourself in the country’s Viking past and travel westwards to Roskilde, the ancient capital of Denmark. Pass farming country and small villages founded by Vikings more than a thousand years ago and on arrival visit the town square and twin-spired Cathedral, the traditional burial place of the Danish Royals. Continue to the Viking Ship Museum before returning to Copenhagen to board your overnight ferry to Oslo and taking dinner on board. (B, D)

DAY 3 TUE STOCKHOLM Take in the early morning views of the Stockholm archipelago as you cruise into port. On arrival, become acquainted with Sweden’s charming capital seeing the Royal Palace, Parliament and Gamla Stan (Old Town) with its narrow cobbled streets. Visit the impressive Vasa Museum and City Hall where the Nobel Prize banquet is held annually. DAY 5 THU STOCKHOLM – COPENHAGEN Travel by train across the Swedish countryside with views of small towns, forests and lakes. DAY 10 STOCKHOLM Today join a regular Stockholm in a Nutshell sightseeing tour which combines a coach tour of the city with a cruise on the harbour. Pass all the city highlights such as Stockholm City Hall, Royal Palace, Gamla Stan (Old Town) and the Royal Djurgården. Follow this with a cruise along the Djurgården canal and around the island of the same name. (B)

DAY 2 COPENHAGEN Today, join a regular sightseeing tour which includes such landmarks as Tivoli Gardens, Christiansborg Palace, Little Mermaid and Amalienborg Palace to enjoy the changing of the guards. DAY 11 STOCKHOLM - KALMAR Take the train from Stockholm to Kalmar, which was once an important Swedish town. Its historical past is an integral part of the character of the city and Kalmar Castle, the Old Town and Kvarnholmen tell the tale of mighty Kings and Queens. DAY 3 COPENHAGEN This morning join a regular sightseeing tour to Frederiksborg and Kronborg castles. At Frederiksborg visit the National History Museum s royal art collection, the Chapel of Orders and the Knight s Hall. Continue on to impressive Kronborg Castle, the setting of Shakespeare s ‘Hamlet.’ (B)

DAY 12 KALMAR – MALMÖ Another train journey today, this time to Malmo a charming city where a visit to Malmöhus Castle is recommended. DAY 4 SAMARKAND - BUKHARA This morning drive to Bukhara with stops en route at the 12th century Vabkent Minaret and the Gijduvan Ceramic Centre. Once the former capital of the powerful Emirate of Bukhara the city has more than 140 architectural monuments and is considered a ‘town museum,’ with a history dating back over 2,300 years. DAY 5 BUKHARA Today, discover Bukhara, a city with the greatest concentration of historic monuments in Central Asia. Visit the Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, 18th century BoloHauz Mosque and ancient Ark Fortress, the palace of the Emirs of Bukhara. Also see the magnificent Kalyan Mosque, the elegant blue-tiled Ulughbek Madrasa (Islamic school) and the summer palace of Bukhara’s last Emir, the Sitorai-Mokhi-Khosa (Palace of the Moon and Stars). TOUR CANCELLATION Beyond Travel and its principals reserve the right to cancel any tour up to 4 weeks before departure. Should a tour be cancelled, alternative arrangements of as close a standard as practicable will be recommended:- however if a suitable alternative is not found, a full refund will be offered. Should you accept an alternative that is at a cheaper price, we will refund the difference. Once a suitable alternative has been offered or the fare has been refunded, Beyond Travel accept no further liability.
