SAFE TRAVEL GUIDE Avoid a Traveling Foul with these Safe Travel Tips! By: Shereen Massimi, Wellness Peer Educator
Carry your ID, cards, and cash separate from each other. Create an itinerary before you go and stick to it. Let friends and family know of your plans as well. Print out maps and directions for your travel. Scan your important documents: ID, Passport, etc and store them electronically. Bring your medication! Don’t forget your prescriptions and always keep OTC painkillers and allergy medication with you. Never leave your belongings unattended no matter how safe an area may be.
Always have a designated driver and remember, “tipsy” is still under the influence. Stay with your friends! Don’t let anyone get lost in the crowd, especially if you’re abroad. If you see something that looks wrong, speak up or find someone else who can intervene. Don’t be a bystander. Make sure everyone is informed about what the plan is and hold each other accountable. Make sure you have a determined means of communicating with each other should people get separated (groupme, what’s app, FB messenger).

TAKE A TIMEOUT Self-Care Tips to Practice this Break! By: Gabriel Lopez, Wellness Peer Educator
Get plenty of sleep, at least 8 hours every night if possible. Read the book that you've been meaning to start but just haven't had time for! Evaluate how things have been going this semester so far. Are you happy with where they are? If not, how can you change that? Get at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day! This will release endorphins in your body which will put you in a better mood. Take time to reconnect with friends, family, etc who you may not have had a chance to connect with all semester Catch some fresh air and soak up the sun! No matter where you are, a cool breeze and some vitamin D can work wonders to help you relax! Set aside at least one to two days to just do nothing and forget about papers, applications, etc.
