Homes with Hope’s mission is to support the homeless and those at-risk of homelessness in the communities we serve. While more than 70% of our funding comes from the generosity of private individuals and foundations, we are publicly supported by the State of CT and the Towns of Westport, Weston and Wilton. The agency has grown significantly since first opening in 1983 as an organization providing food and shelter for homeless men in a retired Town of Westport firehouse. As the need began to increase, the staff realized that food and shelter alone were not enough to help people move from homelessness to self-reliance. Today, our Continuum of Services includes: case management services; a food pantry and soup kitchen; emergency shelters for single adults, families and young women aged 18 – 24; permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless; mentoring; youth education and the life skills training needed to prevent homelessness from reoccurring. Over the last two years Homes with Hope has added two adolescent focused programs. ASAP is an after school program that provides academic support and enrichment activities to the children living in our Permanent Supportive Housing. HEAL is a community based program committed to helping adolescent girls build confidence and self-esteem through volunteer services to others. To learn more visit our website at www.hwhct.org
