This year SBI Introduced a lot of changes have been introduced in the Preliminary The Major change SBI introduced is Sectional Timing in the preliminary exam as well. 20 Minutes have been allotted for each section viz. Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. Apart from this, SBI has decided that there will be No Sectional as well as overall Cut-Off in the preliminary exam. Approximately 20,000 candidates will be shortlisted for the SBI PO Mains Examination which is scheduled on 4th Aug 2018. Like Prelims in Mains also there will be No Sectional as well as overall Cut-Off. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list. As it is shown in table total numbers of questions are 155 and total weightage is 200 so, some of the questions in three sections i.e. English, Reasoning and Quant comprise of 2 Marks. Section-wise Preparation Strategy  It is very important to have a proper plan for each and every section as you are going to spend specific allotted time on each section.  You can easily utilize provided time on Reasoning and Quant, but the time allotted for English is comparatively high so, now it becomes important to utilize that time properly and score good in English as well.  While attempting exam first target the topic in which you are strong and confident.  If you stuck in any question, puzzle or DI don’t waste time on that, move to the next one and then if at last you left with time review that particular question.  Time plays an important role in competitive exam so, it is important that you should be in the habit of doing small calculations and some topics of reasoning should in mind only.  All the above points are very important from exam point of view. But first and foremost thing that you need to concentrate on is "PRACTICE".

Strategy For Reasoning Ability This section as this section is scoring one if you have control over basics. Practice more and more puzzles because weightage of puzzles is more. Almost every time a puzzle and sitting arrangement comes with 4-5 questions, and if you’re able to solve it correctly, you’ll get those 4-5 marks instantly. But don’t get too engrossed in these in the actual examination as you’ll have other questions to attempt as well. If you feel they are too time consuming, a smart choice will be to skip them. Other than this there are some topics likes Syllogism, Coding Decoding, Inequality, and Alpha Numeric Symbol Series from which the set of 4-5 questions are there so, if you master these topics then defiantly you will be landing on the safer side. Strategy For Quantitative Aptitude Attempt the easier questions first which can be solved in lesser time. You can start with simplification, and then proceed to quadratic equations. After that attempt Number series and then go for Data Interpretation. as

In the last, attempt miscellaneous questions that can be from various topics like Percentage, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership, Time & Work and Work & Wages, Pipes and Cisterns, Allegation or Mixtures, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Permutation and Combination, Probability, and Mensuration. And also these word problems are more time consuming as compare to topic suggested to attempt first. Strategy For English Language This is the most dynamic section we have seen so far. Many students keep asking that how they can score high in this section. English is not a subject but a Language and one needs proper time in order to get used to a Language. . In recent times, we have seen a lot of variation in this particular section and we cannot predict anything is this. For English there are two ways either y are good with rules or you must have good reading skills. As we know English of banking exams is more based on your reading skills so improve it by daily reading relevant thing rather than mastering yourself in grammar as you don’t have that much of time. Reading Comprehension is something which will defiantly come. Try to attempt only vocab based questions from this as attempting RC is time consuming. But, for those candidates who are weak in English language - must attend the RC as though it may be quite time consuming but chances of correct answers are more in these questions.
