SCAN STEERING Excellent Navigation

AS SCAN AS SCAN is a modern and high tech engineering company with 30 highly qualified employees. AS SCAN has extensive experience in steel structures, engine and hydraulic installations, and deliveries to the Navy, offshore, district heating sector and the wind industry. The company has a CNC machines with CAD / CAM systems. AS SCAN Hvide Sande was established in 1960 and functioned as a supplier of technical solutions as the fishing industry was at its highest in Denmark. After the decline in the fishery, the subsequent development of the quota system and the development of fisheries as an effective industrial unit with fewer and larger vessels, we decided to focus on other types of ships and energy solutions to the industry. AS SCAN evolved from being a local fishing gear provider to become an export oriented company with several products for various industries and markets worldwide.

Scan Steering Scan Steering was founded in 1960, but taken over by AS SCAN back in 2004. Today Scan Steering is one of the leading manufacturers of complete steering systems, for several types of vessels in the world. Scan Steering has always been ahead of their competitors when it comes to developing new technology and complete steering systems. Dealing with only one supplier benefits our customers in several ways. Today’s modern vessels require steering systems with an absolute minimum of maintenance needs. Quality and safety comes first and with more than 50 years of experience in installing steering systems for a wide variety of vessels Scan Steering has become a lead player on the market. The Scan Steering systems are made for one, two or more rudders and the multi rudder systems can be electronic or mechanical synchronized. All steering systems of Scan Steering are made according to IMO, SOLAS and build to fit the restrictions of any classification authority. Scan Steering will continuously work on improvements in quality and performance of all parts of the steering gear system in order to keep ahead of our competitors.

Steering gear

Steering gear sizes 0.5 - 100 TM The range of Scan Steering is from 0.5 ton/meters to 100 ton/meters and can be installed on all types of vessels. The steering gear is suitable for one, two or more rudders, either with connection bar or electrical synchronizing. The steering gears main parts are as following: Power Pack, Base Plate, with support bearing, Cylinders, Tiller with keyway, Valve Block and all necessary valves, fittings and flexible hoses.

2

2

Compact installations The steering gear installations are often very compressed, but as Scan Steering is an extremely flexible company we customize our standard models to match the space available. For us, the customer’s requirements are the most important issue and we always try to meet the demands we are faced with.

3 3

Special vessels At Scan Steering we always accept the challenge and this applies irrespective of its design and use. It often means that the series is only on one ship, but it is our production designed for and therefore we can still deliver at competitive prices.
