Warren Township Schools Shining Brighter Every Day

June 1, 2017 Dear Warren Township Learning Community,

With the turn of the calendar page to June, the remaining days of the 2017-18 school year rapidly decrease. As we all enjoy end-of-the-year festivities, we are also taking the time to reflect on the successes of the year and opportunities to do even better in the future. In that spirit, the district is launching the School Improvement Tool, an online needs assessment survey based on a whole child approach to education. The survey includes indicators related to the whole child tenets - healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. It also gauges sustainability of the district’s efforts, school climate and culture, curriculum and instruction, leadership, family and community engagement, professional development and staff capacity, and assessment. Originally designed for school staff members, we are extending the survey to our parent community. Additionally, students in grades five through eight will be provided time to complete the survey in school. Together with the feedback of our staff, these results will assist the leadership team and Board of Education in establishing goals for the future and prioritizing areas perceived to be of highest need. The wording of several questions is geared towards school employees. The survey requires you to respond to each indicator. If you are uncomfortable assessing the indicator from your perspective, please select “neutral” as your rating. Please use the appropriate link(s) below to complete the survey for the school(s) that your child(ren) attend. The survey will be available through June 9, 2017 and should take less than 15 minutes to complete. Angelo L. Tomaso School Central School Mt. Horeb School Woodland School Warren Middle School

Your input and perspective is vital. There is no question that this is a busy time of year with many competing calls for your time and attention. Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated and instrumental to living up to our aim of “shining brighter every day.” Thank you and have a wonderful summer! Respectfully,

Matthew A. Mingle, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools
