3. Set machine stitch to zigzag. Use a wide width (4.5mm) or an average length (2.5mm) and test sew a small section. Test sew: Adjust zigzag width to take a small bite from each rope. Do not sew through the center as some line has a solid core.

4. Start in the center bottom of the bowl with a coil. Use straight pins to hold the coil in place. Note: Your coil must spiral as shown.

5. Stitch a zigzag centered in between the coils. Use a stiletto or skewer to guide the coil into a spiral. Turn the spiral smoothly, guiding the zig and zag to catch both coils securely. Keep wrapping, zig zagging and growing the spiral!

6. When you have created about a 6" (15.24cm) base, it’s time to shape the sides of the bowl. To curve the sides, gently tip the bowl, holding it up in that position as you sew. Keep sewing, adding rounds of wrapped rope to create the sides of your bowl. 6" base

Finishing 7. To finish the top edge, wrap the end of the clothesline in fabric, secure with glue stick. Zigzag over the end and continue one round over the bowl top edge. Backstitch to secure and clip threads.
