Seafarers’ Link Talking communities with former seafarers and family

Seafarers’ Link What is Seafarers Link?

Get involved!

Seafarers’ Link is a free telephone group connecting up to 6 people together on the same call. Taking part in a group is a great way to connect with people who share a maritime background.

The groups are a great way to make new friends and offer an opportunity to share stories and experiences of life at sea.

Talking Communities are a simple way of linking people together, so that they are able to talk to each other at the same time.

How does it work?

It’s changed my life. It’s lovely to have friends connected to the sea to speak to.

Anyone with a seafaring background including former Merchant Navy and deep sea fishermen, retired Royal Navy, Royal Marines, WRNS and RNA members can take part.

“ There are things you can talk to other Seafarers about that you just can’t discuss with people.

It is good to talk, it’s fun and joining a phone group is FREE!

Seafarers’ Link is open to anyone who has served or worked at sea and to spouses, partners and carers with seafaring connections.

Connecting to a phone group is simple, you just pick up your phone and join the call. You can use a landline or your mobile. At an agreed time every fortnight, everyone in a group receives a call which links them to their group and they can enjoy up to an hour’s conversation. The bond experienced by seafarers is quickly regained as evidenced by the humour and camaraderie that is shared. Seafarers Link Talking Communities are facilitated by our trained volunteers, making them safe and friendly to take part in.
