ALFIBOY, placed seventh, jumped left at the first hurdle hampering BUDARRI, placed fourth and DERRYNANE (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of ALFIBOY. Harry Skelton, the rider of FORT JEFFERSON, placed second, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip without giving his mount time to respond after the second last hurdle. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that WITNESS TIME (IRE), unplaced, finished lame on its right fore. Race 2 - 5:40pm. The performance of ALLFREDANDNOBELL (IRE) which finished unplaced, was considered. Micky Hammond’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by being unable to dominate was noted. The winner, EVER SO MUCH (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Sedgefield on 28 January 2018 where the gelding finished tenth of fourteen, beaten 34 lengths. Ben Haslam’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the better ground was noted. EVER SO MUCH (IRE) was routine tested. Race 6 - 7:40pm. Scott Lowther, the owner, was fined £140 as the record of vaccinations in the passport of PADS (IRE) did not comply with the Rules of Racing. The Veterinary Officer reported that FIRMOUNT GENT (IRE), unplaced, had bled from the nose and that SUMMONED (IRE), placed fourth, had a cut on its right hind cannon. Race 7 - 8:10pm.
