Job Summary QEdu - a Lemann Foundation company - is a purpose driven technology company that combines the culture and approach of an internet start-up with a mission to transform the public education in Brazil through technology, data, and analyzes. To achieve this goal, we are seeking a Senior Backend Developer for a full-time, on-site role based in our brand new and charming office in Pinheiros, São Paulo. The Senior Backend Developer will be part of our core team, working with us to transform the public education in Brazil and shape the strategic direction of the company. Candidate should love coding and proactively keep their knowledge and skills up to date. Candidate must be happy working independently and as part of a team, highly collaborative and have ability that spans all areas of the back-end technology stack.
Senior Backend Developer responsibilities at QEdu Help us to convert our mission into product strategy and execute it; Build innovative new features within our product using the Agile concept; Create easy-to-understand, well-documented APIs; Fix or upgrade existing solutions or services (most of them are in PHP over MySQL databases); ● Update the current database and product with new educational reports released periodically; ● Extract data from our current educational databasis (MySQL); ● Manage the relationship with our outsourced infrastructure partner to ensure QEdu high availability. ● ● ● ●

Help us to convert our mission into product strategy and execute it; Build innovative new features within our product using the Agile concept; Develop beautiful, responsive, and ultra fast web interfaces that are optimized for SEO; Interact closely with the whole team to ensure flawless and ultra fast implementation of complex applications; Create easy-to-understand, well-documented codes; Fix or upgrade existing solutions or services (most of them are in PHP over MySQL databases); Find and address performance issues; Update the current database and product with new educational reports released periodically; Extract data from our current educational databasis (MySQL); Research and communicate frontend best practices, with special focus on educational / pedagogical context.
