Independent News & Media is now seeking applications for the position of

SEO and Audience Development Manager The SEO and Audience Development Manager is responsible for managing and optimising the growth of the online audiences and traffic across all online distribution channels for INM websites, with an emphasis on search. The successful candidate will be a key member of the product team, liaising closely with Editorial, Marketing, Development and Commercial teams to ensure new and existing products are visible, discoverable and visited by their intended audience. The SEO and Audience Development Manager is expected to take a hands on approach to SEO and search; but also to be aware of other referral channels , keep on top of trends and fluctuations and recommend proactive and reactive action in the face of algorithm updates and other changes to the wider news ecosystem. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

Reporting on inbound traffic sources and trends Working with the development team to define and deliver structural updates that maximise referral traffic; e.g. hub pages, tagging, URL structure, sitemaps, duplicate content etc Recommending new distribution channels/initiative Regular liaising with Editorial teams on trending keywords in Ireland and globally Strategic and operational recommendations on optimising content for search

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS     

3+ years experience in SEO in the publishing industry Excellent understanding of publishing and how a busy newsroom works Excellent presentation and communication skills Expert in analysing trends and keeping up to date with trends Strong capability in writing technical requirements
