Principal Thoughts,
It has been such an exciting week here at CW. I loved being able to meet our new 5th grade students and welcome back familiar 6th grade faces! Our staff has worked so hard at preparing to make this the best year every for your child. We had many students sharing with me about how excited they were to be at CW. I have said this numerous times, but I really believe CW is a special place. This is a dream for me to be able to spend my days with your children watching their excitement grow as they become deeper thinkers and leaders during their time at CW. I promise that I will always do my best for your children…they deserve that! Thanks again for allowing all of us at CW to be part of your child’s journey! David

Drop off and Pick Up
• School Pictures: Picture day is on Wednesday, Sept. 7th. Students do not need to bring any money at this time. Within a couple of weeks, you will receive a proof with the opportunity to purchase pictures. • School Forms: Forms from your packet picked up at Meet and Greet are due on Wednesday, Sept. 7th. Please have your child return those directly to their Homeblock teacher. • Attendance: Just a reminder, if your child is not going to be at school, please call the attendance hotline by 9:00 a.m. The phone number is 616-493-8798. • Dr. Appts., Etc.- If you need to have your child leave early from school for an appointment or other reason, please have them bring a note to office in the morning with the time they need to leave. By doing this, we can have them waiting in the office for you when you need to pick them up. • CW Calendar of Events: The online version is available of the calendar you received in your packet. in the morning, please do that in the parking lot by the main office. Students are not allowed to be dropped off before 8:20 a.m.
• In the morning before school,
students dropped off by car or bus will gather in the hall by the gym until our first bell at 8:30 a.m.
• If you are picking up your child
after school, please use the pick-up loop by the main office. Most families will stay in the car line while waiting for their child. If you need to come into the school, please park in one of our front parking lots by the main office.
• Our bus loop is off limits to
cars during the school day!
Lastly, please remember to be observant and patient during pick up time in the car loop. We have lots of students outside and want to keep them safe!
