SOUTH 2,337 refugees and migrants were assisted at the Miratovac Refugee Aid Point (RAP) upon arrival from fYRo Macedonia.

The health clinic inside the RAP treated six patients and UNICEF/DRC hosted 39 children and 14 women in their child friendly space. UNHCR-funded buses transported approximately 2,280 asylum seekers from Miratovac village to the Reception Centre (RC) in Presevo where they were registered. Nine persons with specific needs (PSNs) were prioritized for registration. UNHCR, SCRM, Police, the Medical Centre, ADRA, Red Cross, IOM, UNICEF/DRC, Caritas, DRC, BMC/CRS and Remar assisted asylum-seekers 24/7 at the Presevo RC. Natan, Humedica, Care international/Nexus, SOS Children, OXFAM 484, Global Medic were present during the day. Save the Children, APC, Youth for Refugees, Atina, Border Free, Mercy Corps and MSF were active outside the RC.

Police, Gendarmerie, IOM, Philanthropy, Remar, Medical Center, UNHCR, MSF, DRC, World Vision, were assisting them at the RAP. UNHCR/DRC/SPDE distributed 72 winter boots, 2 jackets and 58 water bottles, while UNICEF and Philanthropy/CRS distributed other non-food items (NFIs).

UNHCR and partners distributed 64 winter boots, 25 UNHCR blankets, 9 winter jackets, socks and 404 water bottles. Public Doctors, MSF, Humedica and Natan treated 298 asylum seekers. The UNICEF/DRC/CSW child friendly space hosted 265 children and 77 women. Over 400 asylum seekers stayed overnight inside the RC, including 100 in the UNHCR RHUs. 100 stayed outside the RC in MSF and Border Free tents.

SERBIA DAILY UPDATE 9 February 2016 EAST 42 asylum seekers arrived in Dimitrovgrad, Zajecar and Knjazevac from Bulgaria. 34 claimed to be from Afghanistan and others from Iraq and Syria (men, women and children). In Dimitrovgrad, UNHCR, Sigma Plus, Red Cross, DRC and Divac Foundation distributed food, water, clothes, boots and blankets. Praxis distributed clothes. WAHA provided medical assistance to 10 asylum seekers for minor injuries and respiratory problems. Sigma Plus assisted arrivals and distributed food in Zajecar and Knjazevac while Red Cross distributed some clothes in Knjazevac. BELGRADE Approximately 250 refugees/migrants, most from Morocco, Algeria, Afghanistan or Pakistan, were in Belgrade. Many sought aid in food, clothes, use of internet and referrals to various services, including hospitals and registration. SCRM, UNHCR/DRC, Red Cross, Asylum Info Centre and Refugee Aid Miksalište assisted them. Caritas distributed food and clothes at the park near the railway. Also MSF offered primary health care and distributed NFIs. WEST 2,718 refugees departed to Croatia on three trains. 81 were denied boarding by Croatian authorities and placed in the Sid RAP. With the arrival of more asylum seekers on trains from Presevo, the Sid RAP was at times very crowded. At Sid train station, UNHCR/HCIT supported eight PSNs to board the train and distributed UNHCR blankets, 1,200 WFP HEB, 2,112 water bottles, 83 winter jackets, boots, and 20 UNHCR bags. IDC/Sid Health Centre treated asylum seekers and WAHA 47 patients at the Sid train station. In Adasevci, UNHCR, SCRM, Police, APC, Red Cross Serbia, MSF, CRS/Divac Foundation, BCM, Remar, OM and Czech Volunteers assisted asylum-seekers 24/7; World Vision, Intersos, Caritas, TDH, EHO, DRC and NSHC during the day. MSF provided medical assistance to 220 refugees and BCM/Sid Health Centre treated 114. The UNICEF/WV/CSW child friendly space hosted 142 children and 57 mothers. The Red Cross and Caritas distributed food on buses. Remar offered of hot tea and of soup. CRS/Divac Foundation distributed adult and children’s winter clothes and footwear.
