SOUTH 11,875 refugees and migrants were assisted at the Miratovac Refugee Aid Point (RAP) upon arrival from fYRo Macedonia over the period 31 December 2015 to 03 January 2016. Police, Gendarmerie, IOM, Philanthropy, Remar, Medical Center, UNHCR, MSF, DRC and UNICEF continued assisting at the RAP, and as of 01 January World Vision is present as well. Philanthropy/CRS and Remar distributed food and refreshments to the asylum-seekers. UNHCR/DRC, World Vision, UNICEF and Philanthropy distributed non-food items. Some 380 people, mainly families with children, stayed the night at the RAP. UNHCR funded buses continued transporting refugees and migrants from Miratovac village to the Presevo Reception Centre (RC). Persons with specific needs (PSNs) and their families were transported by IOM, MSF and DRC vans from the border to the RC. 12,278 asylum-seekers were registered at the Presevo RC. UNHCR, SCRM, Police, the Medical Centre, Red Cross, UNICEF/DRC, Caritas, DRC, and Remar assisted asylum seekers 24/7 at the Presevo RC. UNFPA, IOM, Natan, Humedica, ADRA, Care international/Nexus, SOS Children, OXFAM 484, Global Medic and Youth for Refugees were present during the day. Save the Children, APC, Youth for Refugees, Atina, Border Free, Mercy Corps and MSF are present outside the RC. At the RC, UNHCR/DRC assisted PSNs and distributed UNHCR blankets, socks, winter boots, sleeping bags and other items. Asylum-seekers were provided medical assistance inside the RC and at the clinics of MSF/Humedica/Natan. UNICEF/DRC/CSW hosted children and mothers in the child friendly space.

EAST 308 asylum-seekers arrived in Dimitrovgrad and Negotin from Bulgaria during the reporting period. Majority were Afghan men and some Iraqi families. The Red Cross, Sigma Plus, Amity, ADRA, UNHCR, DRC and Divac foundation distributed food, water, clothes and blankets. WAHA assisted asylum-seekers in need of medical care at Dimitrovgrad RAP 24/7.

BELGRADE In average, on a daily basis, over 150 asylum-seekers were assisted in Belgrade. Majority were Iraqis, followed by Afghans, Syrians and Somalis. Most sought aid in food, clothes and use of Internet. SCRM, UNHCR/DRC, Red Cross, Asylum Info Centre and Refugee Aid Serbia at Miksalište assisted them. As the boarding of trains took place under very cold and snowy weather conditions, the police ensured an expedited procedure to avoid long waiting time outdoors. WAHA and the IDC/Sid Health Centre provided medical services at the train station, mainly for respiratory infections.

At the Sid Train Station and Sid RAP, UNHCR/HCIT continued assisting asylum seekers with boarding trains, in particular PSNs, and distributing UNHCR blankets, WFP HEB,

The situation in the Adasevci RAP was calm and orderly, with asylum seekers keeping warm in the available facilities. SCRM, UNHCR, Police, APC, Red Cross Serbia, CRS/Divac Foundation, MSF, BCM, REMAR, OM and Czech Volunteers assisted asylum-seekers 24/7, World Vision, EHO, TDH, NSHC during the day. MSF, BCM and EHO provided medical assistance to asylum-seekers. The UNICEF/WV/CSW child friendly space hosted children and mothers. Red Cross distributed food on the buses. REMAR provided hot soup and hot tea. CRS/Divac Foundation distributed food packages and various items of adult and children’s winter clothing and footwear.
