Session Abstracts for TCC 2017 Welcome to your Destination: Change Christian Kromann, CEO TIA Christian joined as CEO of TIA in May 2016 with 16 years’ experience providing software to the financial industry. After a warm welcome, Christian will address key challenges faced by today’s established insurers and startups, and introduce TIA’s strategy towards helping customers meet these challenges and embrace their digital transformation. He will discuss changing business models, product innovation, self-service strategies and TIA’s approach to providing the platform that supports these initiatives and drives them successfully forward. Digital keynote – Insights from Google Sarah Fix-Bähre, Industry Leader in Insurance, Google Germany Sarah’s been at Google since 2006, where she’s consulted international multi-channel retailers on digital transformation, e-commerce and digital branding. Today she is leading Google’s insurance portfolio and will share her insights into the digital challenges insurers are facing – from serving today’s digital consumers to working with rigid organisational structures and how to work with data-driven business development. She’ll also discuss how to turn customer behaviour into new insights, new products and better risk assessment. Customer spotlight – Building and maintaining a culture of innovation Wolff Graulich, Board Member of Element, a new Insurance venture by FinLeap and TIA customer German FinTech company builder, FinLeap, is cultivating a wide range of innovative startups including its latest Insurance venture, Element. Wolff will take us on a journey of innovation creation – from what it takes to spark, nurture and drive innovation to how to maintain a culture of innovation once your big bets are off the ground. He’ll also discuss his personal view on partnerships, customer feedback and making use of eco-systems. TIA insights – Product agility as a key business strategy Thomas Illum, CIO, TIA Thomas joins TIA from Assurator, a key TIA implementation partner which TIA acquired in January and Thomas founded in 2006. He will discuss product agility as a fundamental tool for winning new customers and balancing time to market and risk. He will highlight the difference between products designed for administration and products designed for sales, and illustrate the product developers’ dilemma of managing demands from sales & marketing versus demands from underwriting and pricing. He will also present new productdesign opportunities with TIA and more.

He will discuss various possible business models for becoming an ‘Everyday Insurer’ and move up the value chain to address new customer needs and generate new revenue streams. He will also share insights on the three distinct insurance customer segments, ‘Digital Nomads’, ‘Quality Seekers’, and ‘Value Explorers’, identified in a recent Accenture customer survey with more than 32,000 participants.
