Join us in Stratford-upon-Avon for a range of free activities for the whole family. Explore our newly reopened Swan Theatre wing or drop into our rehearsal studio complex, THE OTHER PLACE. Take a guided theatre tour that explains the rehearsal process, sample our new Cafe Bar, or watch BBC Radio 3 broadcasting live from the foyer. From 11am on SATURDAY 23 APRIL you can join in the festivities by watching or joining the parade. Walk in Shakespeare’s footsteps from his Birthplace on Henley Street to his grave at Holy Trinity Church, following the self-guided tour from theatre-makers Stan’s Cafe. Pop into Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Hall’s Croft or Harvard House for a free slice of Birthday Cake. Families with children under 5 can enjoy free entry to Hall's Croft gardens for the KNIGHTS AND NYMPHS TODDLER PARTY from 12 noon to 4pm. Bring a picnic or enjoy the barbecue for a fun day out with music, dancing, storytelling, face painting and lots of fairy fun! Visit SHAKESPEARE’S SCHOOLROOM & GUILDHALL, open for the first time to the public, to see where the great man spent his school years and first experienced theatre. Tickets are £8 and are available on the door. Enjoy the free fireworks at the end of the day as we celebrate the town’s most famous son.
