Welcome to the CHVRCHES Fan Podcast for Friday, April 14th, 2017. My name is Steve Holden and I'm recording this fan inspired podcast in Southern California near San Diego. Today’s podcast consists of the latest CHVRCHES news, a two part fan Q&A with Haley & Mary, and Part 2 of 3 of an interview that the band did in 2013 in Australia. The song that kicked off this podcast was Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Chvrches from the movie Vampire Academy that was released in 2014. The song Bela Lugosi’s Dead was originally recorded on January 6, 1979 by the band Bauhaus. I know I heard the song before the 1998 release of the Bauhaus album Crackle, but I only have a copy of the song from 1998 release of Crackle. Two bands that came out of Bauhaus were Tones On Tail and Love and Rockets. I think that the CHVRCHES version is pretty good. The part I played was from the very beginning but I highly recommend listening to the full song if you haven’t. The band does a great job showing off all their talent in this song I think. You can send me feedback, input, comments, suggestions, etc. on this fan inspired podcast on Twitter @chvrchespodcast.
