The Worship of God with Our Tithes and Offerings

3

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. The Pastoral and Congregational Prayer ……………………… Elder Anthony Craven “In Christ Alone” In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song. This Cornerstone, this solid ground firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless Babe. This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save. ‘Til on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied. For every sin on Him was laid, here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day up from the grave He rose again. And as He stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me. From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, could ever pluck me from His hand. ‘Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I stand. Children ages K3 through K4 may be dismissed to go to Children’s Church.

The Preaching of God’s Word: Acts 8:26-40 ………....................... Bruce Wannemacher “Missions & Missionaries in the Book of Acts” The Lord’s Supper “In Christ There Is No East or West” In Christ there is no east or west, in Him no south or north, But one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. In Christ shall true hearts everywhere their high communion find; His service is the golden cord close-binding humankind. Join hands, disciples of the faith, whate'er your race may be. All children of the living God are surely kin to me. In Christ now meet both east and west; in Him meet south and north. All Christly souls are one in Him throughout the whole wide earth.

Lord, who throughout these forty days for us didst fast and pray, Teach us with thee to mourn our sins and close by thee to stay. Abide with us, that so, this life of suffering over past, An Easter of unending joy we may attain at last. Prayer Call to Worship: Psalm 67:1-7 (ESV) ……………….…………………… Responsively Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; Let all the ends of the earth fear him! “When Morning Guilds the Skies” - #167 When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries: May Jesus Christ be praised. Alike at work and prayer to Jesus I repair: May Jesus Christ be praised. Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find: May Jesus Christ be praised. Or fades my earthly bliss? My comfort still is this: May Jesus Christ be praised. Let earth’s wide circle round in joyful notes resound: May Jesus Christ be praised. Let air and sea and sky, from depth to height, reply: May Jesus Christ be praised. Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine: May Jesus Christ be praised. Be this th’ eternal song, through all the ages on: May Jesus Christ be praised. “Jesus Shall Reign” - #441 Jesus shall reign where’er the sun does his successive journeys run; His kingdom stretch from shore to shore, till moons shall wax and wane no more.

People and realms of every tongue dwell on His love with sweetest song; And infant voices shall proclaim their early blessings on His Name. Blessings abound where’er He reigns; the pris’ner leaps to lose his chains, The weary find eternal rest, and all the sons of want are blest. Let every creature rise and bring peculiar honors to our King; Angels descend with songs again, and earth repeat the loud amen!
