SOCIAL MEDIA 6 tips to get the most from your social media campaigns

When creating a new campaign it is essential that you have an effective strategy in place. If you’re not sure where to begin, these 6 tips can help you deliver a successful campaign!

1 Choose a social media platform There are many different social media platforms for you to choose from. Some organizations choose to use all or an amalgamation of social media platforms to maximize reach. However, it is important you select what platform would be best for your company and campaign objectives before you start the campaign. For example, at the Future Science Group, we have found Twitter is a very popular channel to keep our core audience engaged. This will not work for everyone. There are many options to choose from so ensure you carefully assess the benefits of each channel

2 Post regularly Social media users see a lot of different posts and content types from an array of organizations. Many businesses use social media to keep their business at the forefront of their audience’s minds. To ensure you do this, you need to make sure you post regularly! Your social platforms should be posted to at least 3 times in a given day (cumulative total across all channels) Tools like Hootsuite and buffer are effective to schedule content in advance and could ease your daily workload.

3 Engage Your Audience The majority of social media platforms now track engagement as a metric to determine reach. If users are constantly being reactive, commenting or liking your Facebook posts, this will result in the post having a wider reach. Be playful with your posts. Memes are a valuable technique to boost engagement and deliver a high level of interaction. In addition, a paid campaign will help reach more customers. By selecting your targeted audience, you can have a much larger reach to an audience that may not have been targeted previously.

4 Set goals from the outset This may seem obvious but it is vital that you set clear goals of what you want to accomplish and have a ROI (Return on investment) for the campaign If you don’t have defined goals clearly defined, you will not know if the campaign was a success or not as you have nothing to measure it against. Are you trying to generate leads, increase your followers count, increase engagement or just trying to increase your reach? Have this clearly set out and this will formulate the process of your campaign.

5 Multi-Channel Promotion Once a solid strategy has been developed, campaign created; set who you are targeting and objectives are set, what do you do next? It is time to take your campaign cross-channel. It is essential that you keep a consistent message in your marketing even though each channel will need a different style of approach. In the current day majority of people are active across many different channels whether it is LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter etc. Therefore, it is vital that you appeal to everyone and that the business uses all possible platforms available.

6 Effective Calls to Action To grab the audience’s attention, it is necessary to include an enticing call to action. This call to action may need to have an incentive attached to make the user perform whatever action you require. For example, telling a user you can help them increase their email open rate and actually showing them through a true life example will prove to be more effective to a reader. The first example has a clear call to action as it says head over which will prompt the user to click the link attached to the post.

Example two has no call to action or no personality included in the tweet. It is essential that you try and convey a personality through your posts and have a clear call to action.
