Counselors are interviewed by the Director and a minimum of three references are required. Counselors must possess an appropriate level of maturity and ability to work with campers. All staff undergo a background check. A mandatory training session is required for all our staff. Covered in these sessions are program goals, safety procedures, techniques for working with children, and camp policy and procedures.

Camp Directors Welcome, For over 90 years many children have come to and fallen in love with our camp. Walking in the woods, swimming at the beach or pool, sitting by a campfire eating a toasted marshmallow, singing songs and making lifelong friends are what make St. Vincent de Paul Camp an experience that call previous campers to return and await new campers to enjoy. Camp memories are not just created because camps are places but because of the people and program activities that make them come alive. Camp encourages young people to expand by trying new things and meeting new people. They become new friends and role models and together form a special community. If you are a returning camper, thanks for coming. If you are new to our camp WELCOME - we are waiting for you to arrive! HOW! HOW! Ray Wassinger, Camp Director
