We have a unique and experienced team with a wide range of skills and we are looking for a new software engineer to join us. Job Description You will be expected to: ● Follow a specification and develop code that fits the brief ● Code quickly and use initiative to find solutions ● Use your coding skills to develop applications web, desktop, mobile, tablet, TV and other platforms ● Translate static wireframes into working applications ● Write standards compliant and well documented code ● Be immersed in internet and mobile technology and keep up‐to‐date with new technologies and techniques ● Report to the Technical Director ● Communicate at the production level with the project manager ● Manage your own workload and provide verbal updates on your progress ● Work set hours with occasional overtime subject to project deadlines ● Work with internal teams on development requirements such as timelines and resources ● Use project management software to track development progress ● Oversee freelance designers as necessary Unit 16, Kingfisher Works, Neepsend Lane, Sheffield, S3 8UA 0114 3034040 www.redemptionmedia.co.uk

REDEMPTION MEDIA Person Specification Our new team member must: ● Have experience with at least one of the following C, C++ or Java. ● Be self‐motivated and enthusiastic ● Have a creative approach to coding with the ability to provide unique input into a project ● Be ambitious to become the best in their field ● Enjoy working with and communicating with others ● Be willing to share our values of honesty, integrity, community and fun The following are desirable but not essential: ● Strong understanding and experience of object‐oriented coding principles and various design patterns including MVC ● Advanced skills in ActionScript, Objective‐C, Java and JavaScript ● Understanding of emerging technologies such as HTML5 and WebGL ● Working knowledge of Photoshop and the Mac OS X operating system ● Experience in a scripting language (e.g. PHP, Ruby‐on‐ Rails, Perl, Python) and other programming languages ● Ability to manage dynamic data (e.g. XML, JSON and remoting objects) ● Experience with version control systems SVN, CVS, or Github ● Experience of building Adobe Air applications ● Experience with Flex/Flash Builder applications ● Experience developing Android and iOS mobile apps ● Experience of building databases ‐ MySQL, MongoDB ● Knowledge of cross‐browser, cross‐platform, and design constraints on the web ● Experience with multimedia technologies (audio, video, streaming, etc) ● Undergraduate degree in a related field
