KEYNOTES

Carter Cleveland is the founder & CEO of Artsy, the leading global platform for discovering and collecting art. Carter’s concept — a free website for art powered by The Art Genome Project, a classification system mapping characteristics between artists and artworks as a tool for discovery and learning. Artsy now has over 180 employees; has raised over $100M in funding backed by influential figures in art, technology, and business; and partners with more than 2,000 galleries, 700 museums, 60 international art fairs, and select auction houses.

Moon Ribas is a Catalan avant-garde artist and cyborg activist best known for developing the Seismic Sense, an online seismic sensor implanted in her arm that allows her to perceive earthquakes through vibrations in real time. In order to share her experience, she then translates her new sense on stage. Her performances are a direct result of the interaction between the movement of the tectonic plates and its interpreter. Ribas transposes the earthquakes into either sound, in her piece Seismic Percussion; or dance, in Waiting For Earthquakes, allowing the audience to feel a direct connection to the planet.
