SPECIAL EDUCATION TASK FORCE November 2017 Training
Assistive Technology for Students Assistive technology comes in many forms and serves many different purposes. A child might need assistive technology for mobility, learning, communicating, transitioning, or gaining independence. When assistive technology is needed in school, laws and regulations protect a student’s access to and use of necessary devices and services. Participants will also learn about AT for learning and at school programs, events and activities. You will have the opportunity to demo some of the latest speech generating devices and applications. Special guest Brendan McCarthy from Monroe Wheelchair will provide a demonstration showcasing some of the newest speech generating device technology on the market.
