Summer, 2018 Dear Friend: Project Return has provided invaluable assistance to young women in crisis since 1986. Our 2016 integration with Homes with Hope has enabled us to continue our important mission, and to thrive. Homeless young women, 18-24 years old, are provided with a safe and nurturing homelike environment where they can learn the life skills necessary to secure sustainable housing and to live independent lives. Our “Gather ‘Round the Table” Luncheon event, now in its 7th year, will take place on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the stunning Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, CT. The Luncheon has truly become a highly anticipated fall event on the Fairfield County community calendar, spreading awareness and support for Project Return’s critically important work. Funds that are raised through event ticket sales, donations, and sponsorships account for a significant portion of Project Return’s annual budget. We would like to invite you to join us in supporting our fundraising efforts by becoming a Sponsor of “Gather ‘Round the Table” 2018. You will be taking a lead in encouraging other individuals and companies to support our mission and our event goals. Sponsorship levels and acknowledgement details are described in full in the accompanying materials. All Sponsors receive one or more tickets to the Luncheon. Project Return values your support of our efforts. We hope you will consider honoring our program and the young women we serve through your participation as a 2018 Luncheon Sponsor. Thank you for your consideration of our request. Best Regards,

Sheri and Dina Sheri McMahon and Dina Phelps, Gather ‘Round the Table Co-Chairs

early 240 guests filled the Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk to celebrate Project Return’s Gather ’Round the Table Luncheon. Each table was beautifully arranged by both local designers and home stores to reflect the power of home and healing. That sentiment was echoed by a former Project Return resident who spoke about her journey to independence, safety and security. The luncheon was preceded the night before by a festive cocktail party, with almost 100 guests in attendance. The event also marked the first anniversary of the merger between Project Return and Homes with Hope, two longstanding Westport nonprofits.

he Westport Farmers’ Market hosted a magical evening to support its day-today operations, along with its outreach and education initiatives. Nearly 200 people attended Party in the Parking Lot, which was held on the grounds of Gilbertie’s Herbs and Garden Center. Chefs Christian Petroni and Bill Taibe dished out their delicious favorites while guests dined and the Black Rock Front Band performed. The event raised approximately $22,000, which will support the market and its programs,

“I became homeless after fleeing an abusive relationship. I knew I had to get out but I had nowhere to go but I left anyway and wandered the streets staying up all night because it didn’t feel safe to close my eyes. Thankfully, I was able to go to Project Return. My goals, while I was there, included finding secure housing, getting a job and getting my GED. Project Return helped me to get a job, gain social skills, and learn how to be more independent. Within 3 months they helped me find and move into my own apartment where I have been living ever since. With the help and support of Project Return I have come out on the other side. I am working, living in my own place, and have more positive people in my life!”

“Being at Project Return, I did not feel homeless even though I was. I felt rich, empowered, and sure things would only get better. I thank everyone at Project Return and Homes with Hope for making my life so much better.”

“I am seen as an individual and so I am treated individually. This makes it easier for me to be on a positive path for my long term success.”

M OV I N G D AY “What has helped me the most, what has been most valuable, is that since coming to Project Return I have significantly more faith in humanity than I did before. I became hopeful and motivated. Now I am working and living in my own apartment.”

Our clients are able to rewrite their stories because of your generosity. Thank you for your support. 49 Richmondville Ave.
