www.fpsportsville.org.nz Fraser Park Sportsville was launched in September 2009 from a project led by Hutt City Council and supported by Sport NZ, Sport Wellington, NZ Community Trust & Pelorus Trust. The six founding organisations under the direction of a Board and General Manager have now led the organisation to the first stage of the facility redevelopment. Mark Heissenbuttel, Chairman of the Fraser Park Sportsville

Board says, “to reach this stage is a result of years of hard work from the founding sports clubs and associations.” “It is extremely satisfying, and we are excited at the opportunities the developments are going to provide to all our sports clubs, and all users of Fraser Park.” Stage one is set to be complete by April 2015 and a launch event will be held at that time.

Sport NZ Facilities Framework Sport NZ identified a need for better decision making about sporting facilities and have developed the New Zealand Sporting Facilities Framework. The framework provides a way of thinking about the provision and management of sport and recreation facilities that will benefit everyone involved in the sector. Sport NZ are confident that if there are more of the sporting facilities New Zealand needs, then more New Zealanders will be enabled and encouraged to take part in sport. For more information on the framework click here.
