New Community Sport Advisor for the Wairarapa Sport clubs have a new person to assist them with their club planning and

though he’s new to the role, Cameron Hayton isn’t a new face. Sport Wellington Wairarapa has appointed Cameron to the position of Community Sport Advisor, after 10 months as the Community Sport Coordinator. Cameron is tasked with helping sport clubs and sporting organisations with their governance planning and will run several community workshops to help sports clubs run more efficiently and effectively. “There are many challenges facing the sporting sector and its volunteers so my job is to help

these courageous people to put their best foot forward and experience some success in their clubs” says Hayton. Hayton recognises the challenges faced when taking on a new role working or volunteering within our sport clubs. “Often there isn’t the necessary planning in place for them, so they have to start from scratch”. “I’m hoping to encourage our clubs to have good planning so they can work toward a strong future and be around for a long time,” Hayton adds.
