W

hen the weather gets hot, the Hamptons get wet. There’s no better spot on the East Coast for water sports, from the famed surf breaks at Montauk and Ditch Plains to the legendary fishing beyond the bell in Gardiner’s Bay. Here, a few of our top picks for cooling off on the coast when the mercury rises, plus places to lay your head when the sun goes down without giving up that sweet seaside buzz:

Hampton Flyboard

A

s the band reminds us, We Were Promised Jetpacks – and in the Hamptons, we got ’em, or at least the next best thing. At Hampton Flyboard, you’ll be strapped into a water-powered hoverboard, tethered to a 60-foot hose, and propelled both above and below the surface of the water. Flights range from $180 for 30 minutes to $1,500 for an eight-hour day and up to 12 people; all packages include everything from a life vest and helmet to professional Nikon pictures. The shop is manned by native Long Islanders Dane and Beau Riva, so they know the water well, and are quick to assist newbies; in fact, most would-be boarders are up in the air within minutes, then under the surface, then soaring back up again. Who needs the heat of a jetpack when you have the cool splash of the hoverboard? (www.hamptonflyboard. com; 631.604.8867)

eady to see what Montauk is really all about? Then it’s time to book your first outing with CoreysWave Surf Lessons. Pro Corey Senese grew up surfing Southern California and Montauk; today, he is a master instructor with experience demonstrating everything from short board to long board to paddle surfing. He started informally teaching visitors that he noticed on the beach in Montauk, and quickly found that he had a knack for explaining technique. These days, he’s as stoked to teach others how to love the water as he is to ride it himself, and his enthusiasm is infectious. Worried you won’t have what it takes? Just show up with a bathing suit, sun block, a towel and a change of clothes. CoreysWave provides the board, the wetsuit, surf booties as needed, and all the expert leadership you need to catch your first – and second, and third! – wave. (www.coreyswave.com; 516.639.4879)

R

ev up your engine with East End Jet Ski, where you can rent a motorized personal watercraft and zip across Shinnecock Bay at breakneck speed. Ride solo or with a friend (each craft can accommodate up to two riders), and consider another kind of ski, as well: all jet skis can be fitted with tow ropes for water skiing. East End is a family-owned business, and 30+ years of experience mean they are the best around. Their professional team of jet ski experts is available throughout the day to offer instruction and fit you for a life jacket. Bringing a crowd? No problem: they also host private parties, perfect for gatherings of friends and family looking to take to the waves together. Rentals start at $80 per half hour, and good to know: they book by the ’ski, rather than by the person (so two riders is still just $80 on a shared craft). L

ocally built catamaran Mon Tiki is a familiar sight to many East Enders and visitors alike. The boat’s dark red sails stand out against the clear blue of the sky and sea, and evoke the streaks of the sunset, which you can catch on board with one of their nightly Sunset Cruises. For $65 per person, enjoy a two-hour sail across Block Island sound, and feel free to bring along snacks, soft drinks, and even beer and wine. Feeling more adventurous? Perhaps the Three-Hour Sail & Swim package is ideal for you; tickets start at $95 for adults, and include the opportunity to hop off the craft’s swim ramp and enjoy the ocean up close before sailing comfortably back to shore. dresses

If you want to forgo separates, take a gander at Revolve’s Figuera Dress in white linen. A billowy, off-the-shoulder stunner with sexy slits up the sides of the skirt area, this one is excellent for an afternoon outing or, if paired with a pair of great heels, for a seductive nighttime affair. As an added bonus, the dress comes with deep pockets and a delicate button closure in the front. Revolve’s also got a little number that’s literally called The Cute Dress, and it is exactly that: a rustic-style sundress that floats away from your body, keeping you nice and cool. Delicate floral eyelet cutouts adorn the top hem of this cotton beauty. The adjustable spaghetti straps will keep the summer breeze caressing your upper body, and the flirty slit up the front will allow you to show a bit of leg.

tops

Starting from the top, Athleta has two magnificent pieces that will magically suit you up for your vacation out East. A long and lean buttonup shirt is an incredibly versatile and chic option, and their Linen Long and Lean Shirt in white pairs wonderfully with everything. Complete with a single breast pocket, it goes with slacks, shorts, or even a bathing suit. You can wear it open, with the collar popped, or even tied off at the bottom (there are slits along the sides that make this a simple look). For a more form-fitting look, Athleta’s Linen Criss Cross Tank is a brilliant middle ground between showing off your guns while also allowing the structured scalloping effect at the waist to float away from your midsection.

perfect for a day on the go

If you’re looking for a short-sleeved linen selection, J. Crew’s Shortsleeve popover in piecedyed Irish linen makes for a classic silhouette, perfect for a day on the go. The fabric is a luxurious linen from Ireland’s Baird McNutt Mill, which is notorious for supreme quality weaving.

accessories

For these looks, accessories should be kept simple. A little bit goes a long way. Straw pieces are always ideal to pair with whites. J. Made with pliable raffia fibers, it maintains its shape no matter how packed in

with your other belongings it gets. If you’re looking for a wider brim, J. Crew’s got a white straw Panama Hat that was hand-woven in Ecuador from fronds of the toquilla palm. Because of this magnificent attention to detail, no two pieces are quite the same. Of course, you’ll need a bag to cart everything along (don’t forget sunscreen!), and Vineyard Vines has the

adorable rafia palm Kayu Striped Straw Basket Bag for just that. With deep blue accent pieces, including a vibrant blue striping effect along the body, the handle of this tote is done up with thick, handmade azure embroidery. There are also a pair of jaunty blue and white pompoms swinging from the closure, which you can use to tie the bag closed.

bottoms

For the bottom, you’ve got a myriad of options. If you want to really embrace that laid-back look, Ralph Lauren’s Cutoff Denim Shorts in white are a step above run-of-themill cutoffs. Along with the essential five-pocket styling of most jean shorts, these feature textured distressing and blue denim accents.

Extremely sleek and streamlined, they hit just below your natural waist

The idea of a ruffled short might summon images of bloomers old school rompers but J. Crew’s version in stark white actually has the ruffled feature along the top hem of the waistband. Extremely sleek and streamlined, they hit just below your natural waist and have an additional ruffling effect along the edge of the side pockets. They’re constructed from a super soft cotton/spandex blend so there’s plenty of stretch. Written by Michael Raver J.Crew's White Ruffled Short

each or poolside packing should be easy, right? All you need is a bathing suit. Wrong. So wrong. You need the right bathing suit, or as the case may have it for the unpredictability of a weekend out East, suits. What you need for a day of lounging at the Beach Club at Gurney’s isn’t quite the same for a more adventurous afternoon with Hampton Flyboard. So, let us introduce to you sisters and co-founders of Aurora San, Natasha San and Gemma Sherman. After years of swapping and sharing tops, they identified a gap in the swimwear industry, and that’s when they began putting plans in place for a swimwear line that features interchangeable straps. Sherman says, “Straps as accessories allow our consumer to create an endless variety of looks.” It’s a level of customization that’s new to the market, and we had some questions. So we went right to the source, talking to Natasha and Gemma about how the brand works and the mainstays of the collection, and we also played a fun round of “How’d You Wear It?”

This was your first foray into fashion. What made you take the leap? Swimwear with interchangeable straps has been an idea of ours for over 10 years. We dipped our toes in the water seven years ago, but then life happened. The welcomed postponement has only allowed our passion for this concept to burn stronger, not to mention technology to evolve. We have always had the passion, now we have the time to dedicate to the business with so many apps and websites at our fingertips to grow it! Which styles are the pillars of your collection? The pillars of our collection are our core five shapes. The core shapes are classic and timeless. We offer low coverage and higher coverage looks. Their simplicity and elegance offer a beautifully made base for our customers to purchase our luxury straps and customize their look. How does it work exactly? You buy a base suit then purchase straps individually? Exactly! You buy a base suit, either a bikini or one-piece. Each item comes with complimentary straps so that our customers can use our unique interchangeable strap feature instantly. Our swimwear is made to last using incredibly high-quality fabrics from Italy. Our sourced fabric offers

longevity and will not lose stretch or bobble, meaning our pieces last through multiple seasons and wears. This provides a fun way to take your great-fitting, high-quality product into the next season with a simple purchase of next season's luxury straps. Not only can you create multiple looks out of one suit on one getaway, but our products will always be on trend with a simple purchase of the new season's luxury straps. We want to give our customers a fun, customizable experience without giving up on quality. Let’s play “How’d You Wear It?” If we were taking a Paddle Diva Class, name the cut then the style of straps that you’d suggest for that kind of activity.

opportunity to showcase and sculpt the body on the one-piece cut. We have two figureflattering vertical seams that slim your silhouette and a sexy and elegant supportive neckline, whilst the high-cut leg creates a long, lean silhouette. Everything about our one-piece screams glamour and high quality. Pair this one-piece with one of our chiffon straps, as they move beautifully in the sea breeze as the boat sails out to the sunset. What’s been the most exciting thing about starting Aurora San and what do you see on the horizon?

What about if we were heading out for a day on the boat?

Seeing Aurora San come to life has been incredibly exciting to us. We have so much love for this company that’s been brewing for so many years – witnessing our dream become a reality has been truly incredible. We never gave up on our dream no matter what life events took precedence and we are both proud of each other for that and excited for our future that we get to enjoy together. We see so much on the horizon for Aurora San it’s hard where to begin. We have patented our clasp and intend to use it in many customizable, luxurious resort wear ways in addition to future swimwear shapes. Not to mention we have many upcoming luxury strap designs in the works that we can’t wait to release!

This look is more luxurious. I would go for our one-piece. Our fabric really gets the

This is a fun game! We’d want to keep this look low coverage, playful, and fun. We think the triangle bikini top and Brazilian bikini bottom would be ideal – you’ve got to show off that perky derriere from class. We would wear our braided luxury strap with our signature lobster charm and colorful tassels. At least if you fall in, the lobsters will see you are lobster-friendly and will keep their claws off!

MOISTURIZED A Rehydration from the Hamptons Sun

S OM E ON E ’ S

When the sun’s scorching, it can be so easy to let your skin atrophy into a crackly and dry place. Even with New York humidity, over-washing can sometimes really do a number on your skin. Here are some exquisite moisturizers to keep yourself smooth while you’re enjoying the warm weather months.

Body

An all-over body moisturizer is essential, especially when you’re showing some skin. Bare legs and arms leave you open to total dry out. Organic Doctor's Organic Aloe Vera lotion uses the purest of ingredients, including aloe vera, cocoa butter, shea butter, apple extract, and vitamin E. Aloe is particularly useful for moisture, as the plant’s polysaccharide levels are maximized to soothe and restore dry, sun-exposed skin.

Lips Moisture is paramount for them. Jo Malone’s Vitamin E Lip Conditioner is an easy solution that glides on smoothly, leaving an ever-so-subtle honey scent as it hydrates. There’s a delightful tingling sensation on your lips at application, reminding you that this stuff is brilliantly doing its job to keep your lips lusciously soft and kissable.

Hand

Hand cream is another absolute must-have for summertime. While winter dryness can be a pain, summertime has us outside with bare hands. Kai Hand Cream is a luxuriously nourishing blend of shea butter and sunflower and safflower oils, as well as aloe (notice a theme here?) and apple extract. If you’ve never taken a whiff of a Kai product before, prepare yourself for a major treat.

Feet

A massage for your feet with Premier Dead Sea Luxury Foot Cream is an extraordinarily titillating experience waiting to happen. A wondrous combination of Dead Sea minerals, mud and water, Premier has also folded in a bevy of healing plant extracts to soften and safeguard your feet from roughness or cracking.

Hair

Time at the beach can really do a major number on your hair. Chlorinated pools can as well. While the wild mermaid look is great for a while, you’ll want to make sure you keep tabs on your tresses with some extra moisture. Celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo stands by his brand’s leave-in conditioner, Cream Whip, which promises to keep your hair easy to style and easy to manage.

t’s gotten mighty hot out there, hasn’t it? With summer in full swing, you can kick back and enjoy some fun in the sun. Weekends out East allow you to leave behind the structure and rigor of the Monday-through-Friday grind. Vacation time can be an opportunity to embrace frivolity and lively wardrobe options. Tropical prints are an excellent way to do this, since the spirit of the tropics evokes an explosive combination of simplicity and passion. Furthermore, there’s an exuberance in tropical prints that simply begs you to put your feet up and sip on a refreshing glass of something chilly. It doesn’t have to be a daunting prospect, the search for the perfect tropical prints. We’ve got your flower power right here, sir.

tops Starting with the top, Florentino’s Floral Printed Polo is a rich blue symphony of light blue palm leaves and tropical flowers over a deep navy background. The cut is flattering and like any wellconstructed polo, you can opt for a popped collar or for the streamlined downposition.

Reiss’ Oakhart Floral Printed Shirt is an eye-catching alternative

On the other end of the spectrum, Reiss’ Oakhart Floral Printed Shirt is an eye-catching alternative. This would pair exquisitely with a pair of white shorts or dark jeans. A slim cut, short-sleeved buttondown, the Oakhart is a cuban collared stunner that features a sleek, modern floral print. Reiss’ Mccawly Navy Shirt is a cotton and linen blended short sleeve that bears a sublimely contemporary take on the palm print. The cream-colored leafy splashes are done in an almost haphazard fashion, adding some levity to the bold darkness of the overall piece. Lacoste’s Slim Fit Tropical Print Shirt is a modern take on the traditional tropical/floral with a slightly urban bent. Deep green leaves adorn all sides of this button-down like a pop art masterpiece. Florentino's Floral Printed Polo Slim Fit

The print is a vibrant jolt of color that is sure to turn heads on the beach this summer. Complete with a drawstring to keep things comfortable, the lace-up waistband and button fly will allow you to hit the waves with confidence. While you don’t really have to be too concerned with pairing bathing trunks with a top, a simple solid white tank top or tee will get you to the beach with some class. Ralph Lauren’s Classic Fit Stretch Shorts has an adorable deep sea print on offer this season. A white background showcases a swirling cacophony of starfish and octopuses. Wear them belted with a polo and loafers or a tee and sandals, and you’re sure to brighten anyone’s day who lays eyes on you.

f course, an outfit wouldn’t be complete without the right footwear or accessories. Because you’ll want to keep things breezy and comfortable, be sure to steer clear of anything that’s constricting. Also, remember that less is more with summertime extras for menswear. Vans Vintage Floral UA Old Skool sneakers are a delightful way to add a pop of color. The classic low-top skate shoe has reinforced toecaps in black suede, paving the way for a wondrous floral pattern along the sides. Super comfy and with great arch support, these are built to last. stay smooth A Rehydration from the Hamptons Sun While men’s grooming tends to be a much simpler affair than it is for women, the summer months can wreak havoc on your skin and hair. From dips in the ocean to laps in the pool and laying out in the sun, you’re going to want to make sure you keep moisturized all summer long. While there are a lot of products out there,

Hair Award-winning men’s grooming brand American Crew has been at the forefront of keeping gents looking their absolute best. Their leave-in conditioner is one of their most sought-after products, granting a solid foundation of moisture as well as a lustrous shine, but without any buildup or greasy residue. This stuff will protect your hair from UV rays and leaves an intoxicating sweet fragrance in your locks all day long.

Hand Sabon’s Gentleman line also has a hand cream on offer. One of the most popular items of the entire brand, the cream comes in a convenient tube that is easily carted anywhere. The formula is loaded with passion fruit oil and vitamin C, keeping your hands softly moisturized and leaving a sensuously masculine scent.

Lips

The summer can make your lips dry out as easily as in winter. Keeping on top of that can be a tall order, especially on those scorchingly hot days. Burt's Bees 100% Natural Moisturizing Lip Balm has become so unbelievably popular that the brand actually boasts that it sells a tube every two seconds. Available in a variety of scents, it’ll nourish your lips with a vitalizing tingle and keep them hydrated.

Body

Israeli soap brand, Sabon (which means “soap” in Hebrew) has stormed its way through the market of men’s grooming products with its Gentleman line. The Gentleman Body Lotion is a luxurious mixture of natural oils loaded with Omega 3, 6, 7, and 9. It’s also lush with vitamins A and E. Perfect for everyday use, it has a patchouli citrus aroma and comes in a glamorous glass container.

Kiehl’s Intensive Treatment and Moisturizer for Dry or Callused Areas can actually be great for your hands and your feet. A super-thick treatment for dry and damaged skin, enriched with avocado oil and shea butter (the supreme treatment for dryness), a little bit of this goes a very long way.

Hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco rose to fame in 2006 with the release of his album Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor. On Sunday, July 16, the rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur brings his dynamic live act to The Surf Lodge in Montauk. The Chicagoraised artist started rapping in junior high and got his break as a part of the short-lived hip-hop group Da Pak before being mentored by Jay Z and signing a record deal.

Star of stage and screen Aaron Tveit returns to his Broadway roots in a one-night solo concert event at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, July 16th. Tveit received his big break after a casting director saw him perform at Ithaca College in Upstate New York and offered him a role in the national tour of Rent. From there, the charismatic performer made his Broadway debut joining the company of the smashhit musical Hairspray as the leading man heartthrob Link Larkin. Following his winning performance, he went on to star in Wicked before creating roles in the original productions of Next To Normal and Catch Me If You Can.

Their sound can be described as laid-back blues and is heavily influenced by R&B and hip-hop, in particular the old-school sounds of Run-D.M.C. and the Beastie Boys. With several studio albums under their belt and frequent collaborations and performances with Jack Johnson, G. Love is a self-described “road dog” who lives for touring and live performance. The concert series at The Surf Lodge is the perfect opportunity to see this consummate music man in his element. (The Surf Lodge, 183 Edgemere Street, Montauk)

From there, Lupe Fiasco went on to produce an extensive catalog of music, receiving multiple Grammy Award nominations and winning Best Urban/Alternative Performance for “Daydreamin” featuring R&B Artist Jill Scott. Among the most celebrated hip-hop artists of the last 20 years, the cerebral and enigmatic performer is influenced by Nas, Jay Z, Common, and A Tribe Called Quest, all the while maintaining his singular and distinct voice. La Nuit en Rosé comes to the Capri An Elegant Weekend of Food, Rosé Wine, and Chic

Summer Fun

W

hat’s better than pink wine in the summertime? How about two nights of pink wine, including a five-course dinner and a pink wine pool party?

The Hamptons’ premier celebration of all things rosé will be hosted by OREYA at the Capri Hotel (281 County Road 39A, Southampton; 631-500-9055) on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15: La Nuit en Rosé, an elegant weekend affair. Each night will have its own distinctive feel, and both will boast an embarrassment of terrific rosé wines.

Led by the founders of Pinknic and The Great Gatsby Party, La Nuit en Rosé is a two-day, 21+ extravaganza that is expected to sell out for both nights. The dress code all weekend long is “Pink Chic,” so pull out your cotton candy-colored sundresses or coral capris (white is also okay for those who don’t go full pink). But attire is just the beginning. The fun begins at 7 p.m. on Friday night, when OREYA will host a tempting five-course dinner. The meal will be paired with “rosé cuvée” wines and is slated to be served under the stars (weather permitting). Expect the lavish spread to last until 11 p.m., beginning with passed hors d’oeuvres and rosé champagne, then followed with a full four-course seated meal from chef-owner Greg Grossman. Each course will be paired with a different, exceptional glass of rosé for a fully pinked-out dinner.

Chef Grossman is a special draw in and of himself: a chef prodigy, he was invited to stage at Chicago’s legendary Alinea at just 13 years old and debuted Oreya last year at age 21. The New York Times called his cooking “delicious and superbly orchestrated,” surmising that “whether Mr. Grossman is 21 or 91 doesn’t matter. What does matter is that Oreya is the most sophisticated, enjoyable and inventive new restaurant to open on the East End in some time.” His La Nuit en Rosé menu is expected to dazzle.

Whether you choose VIP or general admission tickets, a good time is guaranteed: 50+ rosé wines, live entertainment, and a selection of light hors d’oeuvres for everyone. GenAd gets you three hours of fun, but the VIP admission pass is even sweeter: four hours of pink wine, shaded lounge seating, an exclusive rosé champagne bar, a private bar with additional wines, a fresh truffle shaving station from Urbani (!!!), and additional food stations from Chef Grossman. Yeah, it’s that good.

Once you’ve had your fill, you’ll want to rest up, (may we recommend a room at the adjacent Capri Hotel?) because Saturday things kick off even earlier. Tuck into one of 27 rooms or three club suites, all equipped with a hi-def TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and an assortment of L’Occitane bath products. Help yourself to the complimentary continental breakfast, then wander the streets of Southampton or hit the beach, because at 1 p.m. La Nuit en Rosé is back with a vengeance: a rosé-fueled pool party.

In addition to all of the other excitement, the festival will feature wine producers, restaurants, and chefs devoted to pink wine – and summertime fun in the Hamptons. There’s no better place to celebrate local, domestic, and international rosé, or to enjoy the decadent summer mood of the East End.

while the sun’s up

T

here’s a general consensus that one of the best parts about summer is the social acceptability of day drinking. When the sun’s out and the office is far away, what better way to cool off and chill out than sipping a spritz and taking a dip? These six places offer perfect grounds to do just that.

B

ringing the vibes of Brooklyn to Montauk, Montauk Beach House is known as much for its daytime happenings as its rustic-chic hotel rooms. A block away from the beach, this summer hotspot’s backyard boasts two cerulean pools surrounded by daybeds and loungers, along with a season-long roster of poolside parties and events.

The jam-packed summer calendar is filled with barre and fitness classes, DJs, karaoke, pop-up stores, and sample sales. On just about any given day, there’s bound to be something going on, but the poolside bar alone is reason to come even on a quiet day. The menu is conveniently organized by alcohol type, so swimmers can pick their poison and have it dolled up with fresh organic ingredients. Sip a Carioca (cachaça with lemongrass syrup, raspberry purée, and fresh lemon) while sun tanning and people watching, or a spicy passion fruit rendition of a margarita dubbed the Felix Lopez while shimmying under the stars. Two years ago, the 91-year-old beach resort Gurney’s turned its 2,000-foot-long stretch of private beach into the lush club it is now, where warm sea breezes and the sound of waves lapping are as much a part of the décor as the big, cushy yellow daybed pillows and wooden loungers shaded by cream umbrellas. It goes without saying that after nearly a century of practice, the service here is second to none, discretely checking in every now and again to offer a fresh towel or see if your glass of Gurney’s Punch—rum with pineapple, coconut cream, and nutmeg—needs a refill. Spritzes, fizzes, mojitos, and champagne keep the drinks menu refreshing to counter the heat, while salads

As for provisions, the hotel’s restaurant Oreya is headed by the young and supremely talented chef Greg Grossman, whose elevated Mediterranean cuisine has made Capri into a dining destination with rave-reviewed dishes such as tuna tartar “cigars,” a North African-inspired local lamb dish, and feta mousse with arugula pesto. After a few craft cocktails, such as a gin and Chartreuse concoction with spiced honey and hibiscus, one can easily imagine being on the beach of a far-off isle. (281 County Rd. 39A, Southampton)

t may not have the caves and grottos of its namesake Amalfi Coast island, but Capri Southampton certainly has a Sirens call of its own. Twenty-four rooms are bright and airy, but the main draw here is the Bathing Club—a secluded cerulean pool surrounded by white lounge chairs that brings airs of Italy to the East End. On quieter days, it can feel like a world away from the hubbub of summer in the Hamptons, while on weekends, the wood deck is grounds for live music and pool parties that make it an epicenter of daytime entertainment.

In Montauk, Solé East is the ideal hideaway for escaping all the pomp and circumstance of the Hamptons. Wholly laid-back without an ounce of pretense, Solé prides itself on being a place where guests don’t come to see and be seen, but rather to lounge in hammocks, ride bikes to the beach, and float in the pool. Occasional DJs and poolside barbecues can keep this spot going late into the night, but most days, guests come to simply hang out at the Backyard restaurant by the pool, where farm-to-table dishes focus on fresh seafood, market fare, and comforting dishes like wine-broth mussels and baby back ribs. The bar—which pours out a delicious sangria—gets buzzy in the evenings, but soon the crowd dissipates as groups go off to drink and chat around fire pits under strings of bulb lights basking everyone in a dim yellow glow. ater, Advil, and vitamin C may be tried-and-true for helping shake those painful residual effects of a long night on the town, but oftentimes what helps even more is a big plate of cheesy eggs or a thick stack of pancakes. On such mornings, these places have got you covered.

Given that his drink of choice is a potent caipirinha, celebrity chef Laurent Tourondel may know how it feels to wake up after a night of one too many. As such, his menu at LT Burger in downtown Sag Harbor is ready and waiting to help those in precisely this situation feel better ASAP. Perhaps it’s the Backyard burger with hickory-smoked bacon and cheddar that will do the trick, or the bleu cheese

For brunch purists, there are also huevos rancheros; egg-white breakfast burritos; and thick French toast with almond frangipane and caramelized bananas that’s also the inspiration for the restaurant’s award-winning French Toast milkshake. The subway-tiled walls and lively atmosphere make it a cheery place to recap the prior night’s adventures, while those who are still trying to avoid the daylight can simply make a quick stop into the adjoining coffee shop for a cappuccino and bacon, egg, and cheese to go. orth Fork Table may appear like the perfect country getaway, all white and peaceful with beamed ceilings and set in its namesake inn. But one look at the menu will reveal its sophisticated city roots. The restaurant was created by chefs Gerry Hayden and Claudia Fleming, who after working at Manhattan stalwarts Amuse and Gramercy Tavern, respectively, decided to pack their knives and head east for a more relaxed lifestyle and restaurant of their own. Their five-course dinner tasting menu is on par with any fine restaurant back in the city, and their brunch menu is about as chic as one is wont to find anywhere in the Northeast. There are sugar and spice doughnuts, sweet pea hummus, oysters and ricotta toast with lardo and truffle-honey to share, pancakes with vanilla bean butter, seasonal omelets with biodynamic greens and a parmesan biscuit, and eggs Florentine served as a sandwich for mains. For those feeling extra fancy—or hungry—there’s a four-course lunch tasting menu as well, culminating in a divine chocolate soufflé. In its premier year in the Dan’s Taste of Summer series, Dan’s Corona MonTaco presented by Don Julio has tapped Travel Channel host, author, and food and travel explorer Adam Richman as the host. It’s set to be an evening of Latin-inspired tastings from over 15 Hamptons and NYC restaurants with enough Corona and Don Julio to make it a party you can only try to remember. As he prepares for his presiding duties, host Richman got real with us about his own taco preferences and what will make a dish stand out, and he sums up the anticipated event with a single word.

Tacombi's Lobster Taco

This is the inaugural Dan’s Corona MonTaco event and it seems like a natural fit in Montauk. What kind of energy are you anticipating from everyone and what are you most looking forward to in your hosting duties? It's the Hamptons in the summer! It is always a rocking good time. If you can go out to the Hamptons in the summer and not find some reason to smile, laugh, or kick up your heels, it's not just that you may not be doing it right; you might not have a pulse!

My mom used hard shell tacos growing up, but I am a soft-shell guy through and through. I generally prefer flour to corn, though corn has a better flavor. Flour has the tear that I like, while corn just kind of crumbles and makes me "It's the feel really bad about life in general. You usually have a very wellinformed eating populous in the Hamptons who have already sampled some of the best food around, so I think there is a heightened standard of the type of food both expected and served.

Talk to us about your taco preferences. Hard shell or soft? Pollo or carne? Are you adding guac? 72 HAMPTONSMONTHLY.COM

First of all, let's just get this out of the way: always guac. Always. Guacamole para siempre!

Generally, I prefer al pastor, shrimp, or chicken tacos. We certainly appreciate the simplicity of the taco – participating chefs will be preparing more sophisticated Mexican cuisine, putting their twists on the classics. What do you think will make a dish stand out?

Quigley's work is collected by such high-profile clients as Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, athletes like Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Jordan, Eminem, Woody Allen and Kevin Spacey. An East Hampton resident, he's been a continuous supporter of the local community and this new exhibition will only serve to further familiarize the highly celebrated contemporary artist with more of his neighbors. Finding some time in between painting, William caught us up on how he teamed up with The MBH this summer, the excitement of painting the local landmark, and how being an artist on the East End was something he's thought of since his college days.

COSMETIC SURGERY MY THS ( AND THE TRUTH BEHIND THEM )

If you’re one of the millions of people considering cosmetic surgery, you may be wondering how to navigate the wide range of available options. Here’s how to separate myth from fact as you choose the best approach.

MYTH #1: ALL COSMETIC SURGERY CENTERS ARE CREATED EQUAL.

FACT: “The biggest misconception is that cosmetic surgery can be done anywhere,” says Dr. Alexes Hazen, associate professor, Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone. In fact, the quality, safety, and breadth of surgical options varies widely from center to center. The price you may pay in poor results or complications with an inexperienced surgeon can be much higher in the long run. Surgery at a facility associated with a major medical center provides an assuring focus on patient safety and close access to intervention in case of any complications. “Our facility at NYU Langone offers the support of an experienced, dedicated, and fully integrated clinical team, from anesthesiology to nursing care and even nutritionists, all committed to helping our patients look and feel their best,” says Dr. Hazen. BOTTOM LINE: Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon at a facility accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) — the gold standard for surgical care. MYTH #2: WHEN IT COMES TO COSMETIC TREATMENTS, THE LATEST IS ALWAYS GREATEST. FACT: “All new procedures should be considered in the context of long-term results,” says Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez, chair, Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone. “We balance the latest and greatest treatments with knowledge of their effcacy and safety to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.” BOTTOM LINE: Ask your cosmetic surgeon if the treatment you’re considering has been proven safe and effective before deciding to try it. MYTH #3: COSMETIC PROCEDURES REQUIRE A LOT OF DOWNTIME FOR RECOVERY. FACT: Recovery from cosmetic procedures could be a lot faster and easier than you may think. “Today, we can choose from a number of proven, minimally invasive treatments to help patients reduce their waistlines or preserve their youth,” says Dr. Rodriguez. These treatments include chemical peels, which have evolved from the more abrasive peels of the past; laser therapy and microneedling for facial resurfacing; and Vanquish for stubborn fat cells around the waistline and thighs. BOTTOM LINE: Arrange a consult with a reputable surgeon to hear about the wide range of available options so you can weigh which procedure will most effectively and safely help you achieve your desired result.

When it comes to cosmetic surgery, a small change can make a big difference. From anti-aging therapies to look younger to cosmetic procedures that subtly enhance appearance, the plastic surgeons at NYU Langone have the skills and expertise to help you look and feel your best.
