Spring 2017 Mohawk Baseball Trip The Morrisonville School Board has approved our trip to Springfield for this spring and we need to set plans for our weekend. For those planning on attending, I’ll need to know hotel and Springfield Cardinal ticket requests. At present, we are working with the University Inn Springfield, which is within walking distance of the Stadium in downtown Springfield. Room rates are $109 with a restaurant full buffet breakfast included. The tickets for the Cardinals game vs the Arkansas Travelers on Sunday will be $25 each and will be in the Roost, which includes stadium food from the time we arrive until the game ends. Additional activities are still in the planning stages, but will likely include time in Branson. We will plan on a trip to Lamberts following the game on Saturday, they don’t take reservations, so we’ll join the que and wait for them to throw rolls at us. Present plans include a VERY early departure time on Saturday morning and we’ll be looking to play a game somewhere in Missouri that day. We’ll attend the Cardinals game on Sunday and start home following that game, arriving late on Sunday evening.
Bus Departs M’ville HS EARLY Saturday morning (depends on who and where we play) Ed Voorhees will handle our bus driving. We will not be stopping for breakfast so you need to bring something to eat with you. We make a lightning stop at a fast food/truck stop once we’ve been on the road for 2/3 hours. We’re looking at teams to play, so this is still in the planning stages. We’ll head to the hotel following the game & a likely Lamberts stop (University Inn Springfield MO). I am reserving rooms and MUST have reservations immediately. There are plenty of alternatives, so don’t feel you need to use the University Inn, but it is near the Stadium (there is a Holiday Inn Express near our hotel and actually closer to the stadium by a block). Players will likely want to be in players rooms, but that is entirely up to parents/players. Please note on the form below if you plan to have your son in your room with you. Players traveling without parent simply need to return a form and we’ll get rooms assigned later. Plans for Saturday evening will be forthcoming, but will likely include taking advantage of the indoor pool. Sunday morning breakfast is included for those staying at the University Inn. With breakfast and all game long food provided, we’ll not try to find another place to eat, but WILL likely plan an activity prior to the game. We will return to the hotel to park the bus and walk over to the Stadium for the Cardinals game which will begin at 2:10. I have reserved 80 tickets. Cost is $25 and includes all you care to eat (boys this isn’t a contest). I will be limited on the Roost tickets to 80, but there will be plenty of other tickets, so a less expensive alternative is available. Please consider the form below a firm commitment…we can make changes, but it will likely cost the team money. We’ll catch fast food on the way and should get back to M’ville at approximately 12:00. Every student, short of being in the hospital, must be at school on Monday at 8:30. It will be a long trip, but this cannot be an excuse for missing any school. Plan accordingly. We play Central A&M on Monday …if you are late for school you will not play.
