Looking Ahead: Late 2018 and Beyond FX has ordered eight episodes of a new upcoming drama from award-winning producer Ryan Murphy entitled Pose. The series will be a dance musical set during the 1980s, examining the juxtaposition of various aspects of New York society. Kate Mara, Evan Peters, Angelica Ross, and James Van Der Beek star. It is currently expected to debut mid to late 2018. Tyler Perry has signed a major deal with Viacom, which goes into effect May 2019. Under this deal, Perry will produce about 90 episodes per year of original content (both comedy and drama). This new content will air on BET as well as other yet to be named Viacom networks. Freeform is rebooting the 1990s teen drama Party of Five; this new version will focus on a family who immigrated to the U.S. The original show’s creators, Amy Lippman and Chris Keyser, are also on-board.
